Extreme Arachnophobia

I love fantasy RPGs but unfortunately for me 90% of them have some sort of arachnid. In Skyrim and Fallout 3/NV I downloaded mods to change the models. In other games such as The Hobbit, Legend of Grimrock and even the Tol Barad dailies in World of Warcraft I couldn't play any more. That being said, when I went into The Cave to kill the Great White Beast and little yellow spiders started popping up everywhere I threw my headset and bolted from the room killing my HC Marauder. Just like in Grimrock and WoW I tried to endure through it. I managed to get past The Cave and head to the Chamber of Sin. The recolor of the old spiders shocked me (black widows are my worst enemy) but I managed. However, when I hit level 3 and they got much bigger I was so surprised I once again freaked out and died. Now I'm stuck, I've tried multiple times to overcome this (even after finding out they get bigger) but I just can't. In no way do I expect spider models to be altered just for people with arachnophobia.

My question is; Is there any solution to this problem? Am I doomed to leech off of public parties on every map with spiders? Should I just quit?


Arachnophobia can be triggered by the mere thought of a spider or even by a picture of a spider in some cases.

Also since you thought about spiders to write your post about spiders (big hairy ones like the ones that live in the corners of every house), did writing your post about spiders (seriously they're everywhere, they're attracted to humans, especially sleeping ones) make you scared too?

Damn, sorry to hear this. :( Sadly, I think one of the reasons why spiders turn up so often is because they are freaky as hell.

I think there was some discussion about a spider model change microtransaction.

But honestly the only way to get rid or diminish a phobia is by confronting it. Thats the only way... so seeing them on a game...like you know..its a pixel spider really.
