I would suggest you get some cognitive therapy for anxiety, I have anxiety problems and it actually helps a lot to get some therapy for it.

Other than that I wager you just got to hope the GGG adds some kind of arachnophobia option.

Actually, Chris was asked if a microtransaction to turn spiders into snowmen would be possible. He said it might be if there were a big enough demand for it. I believe the top guy on HC (Byrr) right now asked for this, so there's at least a remote possibility.

But honestly the only way to get rid or diminish a phobia is by confronting it. Thats the only way... so seeing them on a game...like you know..its a pixel spider really.

Actually confronting a fear with the levels that the OP describes doesn't get rid of it or diminish it, it reinforces it.

What the OP needs to do is therapy where he slowly ramps up his exposure to spiders, starting with the maximum that allows him to experience a spider while not feeling too afraid, he must sense the anxiety but remain in control and get good experiences.

If he keeps getting bad experiences with spiders his anxiety will only grow each time, confronting the spiders head on like this will make it harder each time.

Actually I found this post very interesting as I had no idea arachnophobia can be triggered even by playing virtual games. You must be very fragile that your mind tricks you so hard that you keep thinking it's real. Damn, Im playing games for 25 years to reach this level of immersion and you just happend to achieve that. I don't know if I pity or admire you ;)
