Why do some players lose their passion for PoE ?
I lose passion because characters aren't very "cool". It all seems too modular, there isn't much identity to the different classes. You can easily see this when any class can pretty much do any build, just the starting position on the tree determines it. Also names such as Marauder and Scion are not as cool as Sorceress and Amazon. Game design is good technically, but doesn't wanna make me play like D2 does.

Also, small issue, but I don't really like the POE community. In Blizzard games, community is full of people with bad english, cess pool of scammers, cheaters, flamers, people that enjoy other's suffering, general idiots, people that brag, people that care way too much about the game. I love it, it is heaven for me. It often kills me and cracks me up and I get enjoyment from all that. POE community is too moderate with everything, too nice. Maybe silly I know, but is true for me.

Maybe because of the lack of reward. I can imagine someone getting tired of the game after they've been playing hours upon hours without seeing their Kaom's or Shav's.
Also, let's be honest, the game is really repetitive. On a single character you have to go through the same 3 acts, 3 times. Once you get to the end game, it takes forever to level (the exp from Lv91-100 is the same as Lv1-91), although strongboxes really helped getting higher level maps this time around. Don't get me wrong, those are the reasons I play PoE but I can see someone getting tired of those things. Also, desync. You make my ochinchin go doki doki. I feel people need to take a break because they genuinely get bored of PoE, and that's a good thing. It's not that they do not like the game, it is that they have played it so much they feel they have done what they needed to do. As a result, they take a break for however long, then eventually come back not knowing what is the flavour of the month, what new uniques there are and it feels like a while new game. Therefore their love for the game is revived for a bit.

- the absolutely awful grind.
- the extremely bad and laughable RNG. - The desync it's game breaking for several builds and skill gems. - The un-needed and countless nerfs. - removal of creative and inventive game tactics. - nearly every build of the week gets show-cased then nerfed in some way. - no legitimate pvp - the ladder leagues are a joke with everyone logoffsking to save their characters from death. - transfering of items from standard to a hardcore league - this is a game breaking tactic and an exploit in my opinion. - legacy items - this is game breaking and should either revert all items to current stats or remove them period. - bad, bad, bad, drop rates. - crafting LOLZ - really idiotic crafting. - no real build diversity and when someone discovers a unique cleaver way of running a build it 9 out of 10 times gets the nerf bat or gets removed completely. - devs that honestly don't have a clue. - lack of end game content. - map pool, map viability is a study in frustration. - path of Bad Uniques. - no unique sets, only pay for vanity sets which don't matter. - i have to trade to get end game currency. - i have to trade to get better gear. - i desync cause your code is bad mkay, i lose 10% exp at no fault of my own mkay, no one enjoys this scenario mkay kay kay. - did i mention PoE has a bad loot system? - people running 4 characters at the same time to get better loot drops while not being required to have those characters there when the boss is killed. this is actually the same or worse than the snap shot thing. it's game breaking and exploitive, it shouldn't be allowed period. the only positive thing i can think of about PoE is the game is free. POE is fun until the liner character progression is available. In this case, leveling characters and gems. However, it gets boring in the end game because almost all character progressions in the end game are based on RNG.
Who would play this game if the leveling character and gem from level 1 were also based on RNG? Like if you had enough exp, you would either +1 or 0 or -1 level. |

And there's the whole 'Ive been playing since CB, and never gotten a 6L, koams or shavs, and maybe burned a thousand jewelers / fusinga to 6L stuff, oh and I've had a grand total of 3-4 exalteds'.

Dseync is bad, I think a lot of it is grinding. When you get to a certain point most of the game goes away and your forced to do maps and that is a grid also especially all the currency you put into high level maps and get junk back like real low level maps. Don't know why they couldn't leave lunaris lvl 68 and make Dom runs lvl 69 to easy some of the "you must map to get really high. Some people love doing those runs but the exp is aweful. Maybe make and new difficulty, act1 is lvl 69-70, act 2 71-72, act 3 73-74. I know that is a high level but maybe make the exp just a bit less so its not the same as mas, because you don't want the map system to go bye bye, but the point is too give people other places and things to do to get levels rather than "You must map to get 90's"

" No one person could afford to fund GGG to such an extent that GGG could ignore the majority of players who support the game through smaller micro-transaction payments. If Charan is anything like me (and there is no evidence to suggest he is ;) then the fact that GGG engage with their entire player base fairly and with integrity was one of the reasons he donated so much. There has to be a low point where some people stop complaining because it's just not worth it, and I have yet to see it. - Squeakypaw, 2013
