It's all RNG, and many people don't enjoy that. I did piety runs all day yesterday as did a guildmate. He got 25 exalts in drops. I got 2 crowns of thorns, 2 veil of the nights, 3 fairgraves tricornes, 2 blackgleams, and a blackheart. The thing is he consistently gets good items. I consistently get crown of thorns. Many months ago I was on the other side of the equation, and thought the game was perfect. Now I'm on the constantly getting screwed side, and my opinion has changed. For me, there is such thing as too much RNG.
I did that once, but for longer (lvl 71-78, iirc).
I got two uniques, total. A Fairgrave's and something else similarly useless.

I have a buddy who I play with sometimes(not so much anymore), but it was the same shit! He was farming Merviel while I was farming Piety, and this guy was finding so much shit every night. 3 Astramentis in 1 night, while I got dick for a week. It really was frustrating. When I found my Soul Taker a couple of months ago in Nemesis I slept like a baby that night. I haven't found shit since then, but sometimes I send him texts of my smiling face against my monitor with the Taker in the background.

Measuring self-worth and accomplishment against the RNG gains of others is the super-highway to satisfaction.

Riddle me this - If you guys totally don't care at all about what other people have, why do you have a problem with people wanting tweaked drop rates? Wouldn't effect you in the least as you are free to /destroy any item you find, no?

Once a character is "finished" (Everyone has a different definition for that, but most would have some sort of gear portion) people lose interest in that character very fast. Generally at that point he is only played to farm gear for alts.
If I am able to finish characters gear in 1/3 the time then PoE just lost 66% of it's replayability...
I would much rather see an increase in leveling speed, that would make gear less needed because of your ability to reach more passives without spending 100's of hours grinding.

the day i drop a mirror i will use it on a iron ring lvl 1. And post it in general.
That's how much i care about the pixel wealth. Sadly not everybody feels the same way, and since progression is gated behind either RNG luck or trading...
There is actually a very easy way to increase orb drop rates without the devs doing anything. Even allowing crafting.

I'm here for the challenge. Nerf RNG and make gear easier to get, the challenge goes away. I don't want to be able to faceroll with all the highest-end uniques on every character. I like that I have to scrape by with whatever garbage drops, or what I can trade for; and more importantly, that I'm able to scrape by with the garbage that does drop. If a super high-end unique drops that I can use, of course I will, but the odds are very against me getting one. Which is how it should be.
Look, man. Video games are hard, okay? Last edited by Peace_Frog#0315 on Jan 10, 2014, 10:51:30 AM

I would create a new character and experience the build diversity, which is gated now behind 2000 hours of play (which may or may not result into a finished character) leaving me with very little pleasure to start all over again and experience the game with alternate set-ups.
