thank you. lesson learned.

what lesson?

if you'd alched every white karui maul you'd have better weapon long ago

Spoiler

Up to 88 Exalted in Ex/Eternal used on this piece of shit, and it hasn't rolled flat phys 1 time with 2 prefixes remaining. This is on Nemesis too, not shitcore, where 900 dps are just a duped Mirror away. Maybe if 'someone' threw Alchs on white items then 'someone' would have a better maul. That's the point he's trying to make. 10 guys are getting fucked for every guy that crafted some belt in 500 hours played, which by PoE standards is incredible RNG.

I've got 25 days played on just one of my 3 Nemesis characters that are still alive, so I am the ultimate grindfest loser. So far in Nemesis I have crafted...
Spoiler

I used to be greedy like you, and not want anyone else to have fun as long as I was doing well. Now my friends list at 0, and there are 3 public games open in my league right now. I used to be a stingy RNG asshole too, but I've seen people get demoralized and give up on this game, and right now I'd rather have a huge flourishing game full of people than my "sweet" crafted items. I say tweak the crafting a bit and make drop rates more rewarding for the guys who can't play 12 hours a day with the losers like myself.
i dont even play to grind, i just enjoy killing stuff, but it gets monotonous to kill, kill,

and kill with these shitty drop rates and old content.. i know.. ''just play for fun!''and

thats what i do, but theres no new content, theres no rewarding item drop, theres no

motivation to grind gear for this unbalanced pvp... im just not enjoying to play this,

its getting way too fucking repetitive. and im not even mentioning the discusting trading system.

thats why im not playing POE since dec 7 or 8.

The absurd assumption that its fun to not expect stuff. Playing hundreds of hours and expect a couple of bis items is first world modern generation sense of entitlement in this game. It´s just strange.

Those are all excellent items.

But the problem won't disappear?

Imagine, high ilvl items couldn't roll low brackets.

You all would find slightly better items (but still crap,
because only some affix combinations are any good) and
you'll trade them and you'll achieve item ceiling faster and
start yelling "I didn't roll 30% chaos res in 100 eternals I only got 25% tops da fek?".

Or even worse, you'll start yelling "game is too facerolly with my 1% off the top items"
to which developers respond with increased difficulty ad infinite.

As much as I want everyone have fun in this game (which I think is the best game I've ever played) both by playing and by crafting (I think fusing drops and 5L/6L probabilities are indeed frustrating), they can not fix the problem with the current model.

SC people are already posting 3%-off perfect resists astrals.
HC people must have something like that too.

I'd seriously suggest to wait for D3 RoS (in good sense, he-he).
They promise that l00t 2.0 will fix the game for average player.
And from beta it is obvious what they will do.

They're going to do exactly what you suggest -- increase drop rates
(as if anyone is going to pick up rares) and moar crafting (good).

My personal prediction is that SC (especially) people will become bored even faster with dat all good l00t (unless there would be some truly difficult content (ha-ha)).

And you must know that game is already quite facerolly (only few bosses and few map mods and few mobs and few exiles are dangerous). Everything else is no brainer.

I'm telling you that "increase drop" won't basically change anything given
hard fixed top-tier brackets and hard fixed content

You need something infinite or dynamic difficulty (which sucks in its own way).

I just meant small tweaks. To steal an idea from D3(which everyone will rage about), but why not give lower level uniques a random roll based on ilvl? This would prolong the life of items like Arumvorax Basket Rapier if it were to roll 50% increased physical damage. That would give more use to the sea of worthless shit flooding our screen, and players would have fun rerolling with niche unique rolls. Look at 3/4 of the new uniques they rolled out this patch....3 level 6 weapons. I mean honestly, these weapons wouldn't see more than 5 minutes of use in a 1 hour race.

Adding some kind of guarantee. Something. Anything. The philosophy of "someone somewhere found something so it's all good" is fine until you're the guy on absolute losing end, and we lose another player.

I'm not saying to drop Legacy Kaom's in HC leagues just for logging on or to cater to casuals. Crafting was already well known as carrot on a stick for stupids during OB, but GGG decided to drop "light radius" and "reduced attribute requirement" into a pool of already shitty crafting odds. That was completely unnecessary, and it felt like the old "Chaos resist isn't covered by all resist" as 1 more hurdle to jump through to prolong the never ending grindfest to have a char that feels 'complete'.

Reading some of the responses, it hard not to think certain people are not paid, or GGG employes. There is no denying it, the majority of people think the drops suck, there are tons of threads about it daily, and a massive player die off. What more proof do you need? Just stop all the blind defending already its pathetic.

I'm totally fine with small tweaks, but small tweaks will only tweak a situation not fix it.

As for uniques, I agree, it is strange to see them.
But, again, let's not tell people what to do with their right they bought with their money.

Being Eternal Supporter I've yet to exercise _my_ right to add a unique.
The closest idea I've came up with is ring or amulet which says "can not curse, can not be cursed"
This is going to be either ultimate PvP item or vendor trash.
I have no idea what's it is going to be so I still sit on it.

As for real _fix_ I can only suggest something like this:
* map difficulty ladder made infinite (as in "1000% increased monster damage" is possible)
you spend some orb to make it harder
* quantity adequately reflect this (1000% q maps -- yes!)
* brackets -- not sure what to do
* everything else rebalanced to match new world order

SC people could have fun on their 1000% maps, HC would do conservative ~200-300%.

The point is to make a system where SC people would never say "I've beat the game" and
"I've crafted perfect gear" like they did first on D3 and then on D3 MP10
with barbars rolling like it's nothing and not dying.

Something like that.

We definitely need something end-game to make it feel less stale. I was never a fan of RNG based content with maps to begin with, because it segregated players and left a lot of people saying "well I'll never be one of 'those guys' so I'm leaving". RNG is a must, but not when it comes to content accessibility.

1000% damage increase could be scary on Nemesis lol. 1000%(even 300%) Storm Herald bye bye!

Agree on map part.

But, it's perfectly good to aid GGG in money income from MTX.

Off topic anyway

It's all RNG, and many people don't enjoy that. I did piety runs all day yesterday as did a guildmate. He got 25 exalts in drops. I got 2 crowns of thorns, 2 veil of the nights, 3 fairgraves tricornes, 2 blackgleams, and a blackheart. The thing is he consistently gets good items. I consistently get crown of thorns. Many months ago I was on the other side of the equation, and thought the game was perfect. Now I'm on the constantly getting screwed side, and my opinion has changed. For me, there is such thing as too much RNG.
