Bad loot - a response

I think that is one of the biggest Issues POE is experiencing atm. Most of the Uniques u find are just good for leveling. Even the mid level Uniques are most of the time just good for this purpose. end game viable uniques are really nice but there is a tier of Uniques missing. Back in Diablo 2 there were end game uniques as rare as lets say BOR, Voltaxic Rift or Soul Taker. Items like this were Grandfather, arachnid belt, verdungos, windforce etc. Those Uniques were called Elite Uniques. Beside those uniques there were so called Exceptional Uniques like Shaft Stopper, gore riders, waterwalk boots, the mf boots called war traveller or the herald of zakarum for example. Those Items dropped significantly more often than useful Uniques in POE and creating this rewarding feeling of "oh jesus".

This fact made Diablo 2 a game enabling u finding ur own good loot in terms of end game viable uniques to build a new character around pieces of gear u obtained URSELF!

And I sincerely hope you were trolling with that Karui Maul since (OMG) APRIL 2013
because you could have got ilvl77 one and alt spammed Tyrannical and attack speed on it
since then.

this would require a couple of things:

1) Alteration Orbs (I probably have something like 100 of those, in all leagues total).

2) doing a level 75+ map. last one I did was a Shipyard with friends, back in Open Beta.
I now avoid doing anything above level 70, because it's pointless.
you run out of currency for rolling faster than you can ever recover, you can randomly get thrown back to square one, and you can't solo half the bosses because they'll fucking slaughter you.

3) a belief in crafting. mine was lost way back in Open Beta with several series of failed 5-socketings, Chaosings, and 4-linkings that left me completely broke several times over.
I don't craft anything that sets me back more than a few Alchs-worth of currency, now days.
and as you can imagine, this is a very, very frustrating approach to solo play.

4) good RNGesus. he fucking hates me pretty much since I started playing this game in late January.

and yes, that Karui Maul is my Standard League main Marauder's equipped weapon, since April 2013.

if you look at my characters, you'll notice I rarely level beyond 55 anymore, because fuck late-game.
I had enough of a "positive" experience from late-game, I'd rather build something to mid Cruel and move on to the next build.

in part, because I disagree with Einstein, and think human stupidity has a bound.

Path Of Exile's skill system and passive tree are an ingenious and much-needed refreshment to ARPG.
but the drop and craft systems are probably - forgive me GGG - the most fucking ridiculous piece of swine-flu-infected fertilizer I've ever seen.

Drop is perfectly fine, even too generous in my opinion. Crafting system is fine too. And please crafting is NOT only fusing/chrom/jewels, crafting are also vendor recipes (chaos/regal/chisel/20%q gem recipes).

The thing you need to understand is: along with drops, you need to know how to gather currency, how to trade and WHAT to craft. And don't fuking say "waaaaw i wanna play the game not trade" because the items you get and trade are dropped from YOU WHILE PLAYING. As i said one million times, i trade maaaaaybe 5% of my time, yet i have a nice stash full of equip and some wealth... and i play 2 hours a day AND race too.

Again, learn to play this game properly. I'm 200% sure most of the winer doesn't even know the chaos orb recipe.

This my dick.

I have a stash full of items for new charatcers in PoE. And please don't speak about D2 if you NEVER played it, the "endgame" gear there wasn't the one for Baalruns ffs, the endgame gear was the one for PvP (were you really needed endgame gear), or you're telling me that items like Enigma, Hoto, CoH or Griffons were NEEDED to run uber tristram or Baalruns??

Try making an hammerdin ready for PvP (thus, with endgame gear) with just self finding everything.. you will never even make an Enigma, which is mandatory for any character in PvP

Classic D2 may be a different story, but since you listed items like shaft or dungos, i'm assuming you're talking about LOD.

Brw, Both D2 and PoE endgame are the exact same: both very hard to reach and time consuming, difference is that the Endgame gear in D2 was mandatory for PvP, in PoE for PvE (75+ maps)

On a side note, in PoE is VERY POSSIBLE to finish game and farm maps with a little of effort and trade. All 1 week race players are the proof that it is possible

so basically you put barely any effort into getting good weapon and then complain

just to troll you, this belt was "crafted" from 5-to-1 recipe:

it was on Nemesis for like several hours, I still blame myself for bringing it to Standard

getting high maps is like no brainer now (see 1-week racers doing shipyards in no time)
it's quite easy even for solo SF (see my thread earlier)
i still have several tabs of high ilvl whites to sell after that char died

and to troll you even more, my first serious crafting exercise (i74 titan greaves)
failed with 1400+ alt wasted (and I didn't bought them for chaos, I got them)

~10 regals wasted and there were 2 cases of three top tier brackets

that boots still wait crafting continuation, while I accumulate eternals and exalts
which wil be wasted at the end of the league (so IIQ rolls don't pollute result)

And with all knowledge I have on what's important and what not this is going to be done again in new 4 months league

so don't complain about l00t and crafting, because you haven't done any
@CCR5, I reply with a serious (yet brief) summary of my experience playing PoE for a year, and you respond by trolling me.
thank you. lesson learned.

saying "well you didn't craft" based on a hunch you have, and the fact I never had the amounts of currency you did - is foolish.
and assuming I don't know/use vendor recipes, is foolish to say the least.
I actually think I was the one who edited some of them into the PoE Wiki.

one thing I can say with absolute certainty, is now days I play less, craft less and have a much-reduced sense of "need to win. will do what ever it takes", than I had in the first few months of playing.
Path Of Exile did a terrific job "taming" an old hardcore role-player.
frustrating me to the point of "fuck this I'll just play casually and occasionally", and beyond.

yes, there is an opposite side to being rich and lucky in Path Of Exile.
you are looking at it.
survey says, for every one of "you", there's a ton of "me".
how's that for a fucking RNG huh?
awesome drop and craft system, working as fucking intended.

I'd hope Chris, Qarl and Jonathan are reading this, but I know with absolute certainty they don't.

People like mahesys make this discussion pointless and prove most of the time people not having a real life will answer to this kind of posts. If you are such a diablo 2 LOD veteran you should exactly know what im talking about! And u are right that an enigma and a HOTO were hard to obtain. But in diablo 2 there was a place for casual gamers like me playing the game without putting all their time into it. I never did Pvp since i just dont like it. What i like about good ARPG is the loot and the rerolling of characters as mentioned earlier but u wont even take 5 minutes for reading my post thouroughly. And dont start arguing with me that there was a bigger unique pool with more tiers of uniques thus resulting in a better rewarding system in Diablo2. Another issue i did not point out is that certain uniques could not even drop outside of high level maps! Y is that? restricting really rare drops to high level maps and thus to the top players just drives of causal gamers like me. But as somebody else said earlier: Lets see how much fun u will have with POE when casual gamers will all be gone...

John, i just don't believe that you still have that crap maul since april, sorry.. but you could get a better one with 10 chaoses @ most, both via trading or crafting

go back in time, to around late March 2013, and tell that to ~400 hours of Path Of Exile John Keys.
he may actually believe you.

because 1-year-of-PoE, 1100+ hours John Keys says "bullshit!".
I say random is random, and "random" is the exact opposite, of being rewarded for being good at the game, and/or putting in the extra effort.
hell, I'm sure there's at least one guy who started playing a week ago, didn't do a fraction of what I did in the game yet, and still has more currency and loot options than I ever had.
because luck. or trade. or both.

so I'll just level my Witch here to the "cap" of 55.
maybe try my last remaining challenge of beating Dominus in Cruel on Nemesis.
then move on to my next causal-weekend-gameplay PoE project.

"not quitting the game, yet not really playing" seems to be the best policy for me right now, regarding Path Of Exile.
