Spoiler
Right?

Riddle me this - If you guys totally don't care at all about what other people have, why do you have a problem with people wanting tweaked drop rates? Wouldn't effect you in the least as you are free to /destroy any item you find, no?

Because simply tweaking drop rates is not going to adequately address your issues of feeling like you never get "good" drops. In order to increase your satisfaction with the drop system you would need not only an increase in the number, but also the "quality" of drops, and then you would still groan over not getting "optimal" drops of 6 top-tier mods, all of use to your toon, on the highest level base available.

Your complaints over loot have always been two-fold (at least, since I have been on these forums):
1. I never find enough loot
2. The loot that I do find is never good enough, nor what I am really looking for.

Increasing drop rates may resolve issue #1, but will do nothing to influence #2.

Increasing drop rates while simultaneously improving end result mod rolls would address both issues, but it also injects an insane amount of power creep into the game. That power creep would quickly result in you complaining that you can now totally faceroll all content to lvl 100 and there is no more content to keep you engaged.

What is that popular definition of "insanity" again? Something along the lines of "insanity is consistently engaging in the same activity with the expectation of different results", I think. Obviously those of us that are OK with the current system are the crazies, right?

That's when us psychopaths roll new chars. When the first job is done. I want to absolutely crush the shit out of everything. I want to be sitting in my computer room naked and screaming, while dunking monsters blindfolded. When I accomplish that I can move on to my next build. And then when I'm naked and screaming again? We roll another.

Some people are just wired different. Some of us don't like doing half the dishes, and leaving to start some laundry. Clearly most of us don't need 100% OMFGKSHSHAHAHA gear, but I'm not satisfied with a 4L knowing that 6L's exist, and I'm not happy with a 350 dps weapon when 900 dps are out there. At least let me taste 700 and I can be happy.

The problem is that in Nemesis the majority of us are finding 10,000 2 handers in 500 hours played and none of them are over 350 dps. If 900 dps exists then why can't I find a single 400 dps in 500 hours? We're not talking about bitching over a 1% increase. The full potential is TRIPLE what the best weapons we're finding is. That's a bigger deal than going from a 2 link to a 6 link.

You're here for the challenge, and then proceed directly to trade-to-win mode? Wow. Hardcore.

I'm not sure if you're aware, but you're allowed to trade without turning into a trading mogul. I take the currency I find myself, and buy what mid-range gear I can afford with it. I'll never be able to buy a Voltaxic, and I'm okay with that. If you're not able to buy one, and are not okay with it, you're probably better suited to play something else.

You have a better chance of finding a lottery unique than you do finding a top tier rare.

Those arent dropped, they are crafted.

I ran to maps in the one week nemesis + domination race , self found and solo up to maps.

Then i was forced to trade if i wanted to progress more because no way in hell would my character be "map viable" with the normal grind.

Here is another observation for you, i opened a 66 map, solo i cleared it maybe 35% and then decided i can not possibly run this (i was already lvl 67 at this point farming docks for maybe 18+ hours) due to danger of getting one shotted by a crit.

Then i joined a public party running maps and i was facerolling lvl 70+ maps with ease.
No danger at all. My physical reduction boosted to 43% from the normal 9%, my resis where capped at 77 suddenly instead of 75, and my dps suddenly doubled (1150 LA went to 2400, single target frenzy from 2450 to 5600)

If anything, solo should get +350%iir and for every team member that joins u should lose 50% :E. (not serious, but still you get my point)

I think the perfect solution to this problem is letting the quest rewards be the same items for every single character, medium rolled rare items. Pretty much like the descent rares functioned, you could build around them since you where assured you got them.

Solo self-found works very differently for me than what you're describing. As a S-SF player, I run docks into the 70's. Then go between piety, cata and maps.

Normally maps get started in the mid70 range or so. you were 67 and sound soul-destroyed for not being able to map a 66.

The solution: run in a party and give up on solo play. My solution: farm more like an ARPG invites....

And how the hell am I supposed to craft without RMT, bots, duping?

You chose to play HC. You certainly knew going in that gear would be MUCH more limited vs. SC, and you knew that builds would be MUCH more leaning towards survivability. I started playing mid league this cycle, now that I have some experience with the game I can't wait to try the next nemesis style league. I will of course have even lower gear expectations in that league b/c I know that there are less players, less viable builds, and a much more cautious playstyle with less MF.

With leagues being timed and a lot of people not even wanting to play once their character hits standard I think the much better fix would be an increase in EXP gained over an increase in loot drops. Already domination has tons of incredible gear for sale and the league doesn't end for another month.

This. The gear is dropping. Just not for you, unfortunately. That's RNG.

I think you did not read the part where i was talking about the one week nemesis + domination event.

In a normal league, yes i do what you describe, however in a league where time is limited you try to push boundary's.

And really i sound soul-destroyed? lelz.

It was but an observation that i mentioned. Party play trivializes content by a ten-fold. Also increasing your luck on the RNG table (higher ILVL results in higher "medium" rolls) and thus increasing progression even more in an exponential loop compared to a solo player.

It is also being sold to a vendor. While it would be a perfectly viable upgrade for another player.

It is also being crafted with the help of RMT

This does not change the fact that a legit upgrade within 500 hours of play remains unlikely is considered a "fun" experience.

I usually put my chars on the shelf at around lvl 60/70 when the chances of finding an upgrade myself are reduced to 0,001%, do note that i don't mind this. Maybe i will find an upgrade one day with another character.

Check my character list, i am at around 20 chars now without any upgrades so far.
I do however have around 2500 allts and 350 chaos. Meaning i could buy myself into end game any time i please to do so.
