Hey guys sadly cant post any error reports cuz it actually dont show one.. pc just shuts down same as the other guys said.. 15-1hours playtime and it just turn off and on again
Shoulda posted here first.

Same boat as everyone here, I will try disabling the sound.
Same issue here, running a Sound Blaster Audigy ZS. Crashed a few times and now I can't load the game because it can't load the .ogg files.
Was able to play with no interruptions and gpu at safe temperatures by just sliding the music setting all the way down.

Very strange application error, must be a looping issue like mentioned earlier.
Hello again.

So as i found out its definetly sound related

"
guys if you using nvidia gpu reinstal drivers and select custom instal and DO NOT instal nvidia hd audio

this helped me aswell

so reinstal driver and DONT install hd audio.

Info for GGG my graphic card is nvida geforce GTX550ti.

Hey seikly, could you explain a bit more the procedure you did to uninstall the drivers?

I have the same problem since the beginning of the month, it burnt down one of my power suply, it suffered so many shutdown. I also have the nvidia hd audio drivers, but what drivers should i get instead?

i uninstalled the game, gave up playing but your message brings me hope haha
This has happened to me twice now, both times since 1.3.0i patch (never happened before then), and only while playing PoE. It does not happen during any other game (other games that require WAY more power from the power supply to the video card), such as Metro Last Light on max settings) or any other activity on the PC.

Considering I run my PC 24/7 and play dozens of other games, and it has happened both times within a short time after loading up PoE, I'm not even remotely convinced that it is hardware related. Now it may be that Path of Exile isn't playing nice with the hardware in my PC, but that's not the same as having faulty hardware. My relevant hardware:

i7-4790k (stock, not OC'd)
Asus Z97-A board
16GB G.Skill DDR3 1600
EVGA GTX 970
Corsair HX850 ps

Event viewer shows nothing related to the crash, only that the PC recovered from an unexpected shutdown, with only generic fault codes. Like I said, you likely won't convince me that this is a problem with my hardware, when I can play other games for hours on end with no issue, and yet both times it happened not long after loading up PoE. The odds are fairly slim against that being a coincidence.

Any help would be appreciated, otherwise I'll likely have to stop playing PoE =(

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I forgot to mention something possibly relevant - both times it happened immediately when dropping a portal.

(Side note: I was a closed beta supporter - isn't it supposed to notate that under my forum name? Not that it really matters, but yeah.)

Sorry to bump an old thread, but it's relevant....

So, my last post was back in Jan of this year. I actually stopped playing PoE for a while. I decided to start playing again. This morning, I installed PoE on my desktop. Game has already hard reset the PC twice in a matter of hours. Funny how prior to installing PoE and playing dozens and dozens of other games, the computer didn't even need so much as a reset. I can leave my PC on 24/7, for months at a time, with no issues, but for whatever reason PoE does not play nice with my hardware (refer to the previous post for my hardware).

Does anyone have any ideas at all? PC is not overheating, there is nothing wrong with any of my components so far as I can tell. As I said in my previous thread, I can play games that are FAR, FAR more hardware intensive with absolutely zero trouble.

Help here would be much appreciated, or I will once again have to uninstall the game. Thanks in advance.
"hardware intensive" is quite often misinterpreted.

Just because a game looks better or has higher requirements does not actually mean it is more demanding or intensive.

The thing that sets PoE apart from other games in the demand, is HOW it is demanding. It is not a well-optimized game. It is VERY demanding on many parts of the hardware at the same time (which is not always true for other games). It is not only demanding of the video card, but is also very demanding of the CPU, RAM, HDD, and audio processor. All of those things being used together create quite the demand on the motherboard and PSU.

Reboots like you experience are almost always either driver issues or a hardware problem, and most of the time is either the motherboard or PSU.... because of the demand.

PoE might be the only game causing the symptoms, but I very highly doubt it is the cause. I'f you had a cracked rib and I poked it, it would hurt like hell (the symptom), but I didn't crack it (the cause). Just because PoE pokes your system in a way that causes the symptom, doesn't mean it caused the problem.
