25 orbs of fusing and still no 4L
And there goes whatever validity was left.
See y'all on next episode of "ignorant complaint threads"! |

" Ok. This remark is particularly interesting. The orb system and all the options it opens is THE selling point of the game. You're saying you should ignore that until you can't anymore. And this is not a problem why, exactly? " 4 link items are required for the basic functionality of your character. Specific stats on a rare are not. Specific uniques usually aren't (and I consider the ones that are to be bad builds if they're unplayable without specific gear). I dunno why people are mentioning 5s and 6s again as if people actually said that. FFA loot = single player game.

" " You were talking about 5+ sockets in your first post in this thread. So please stop talking. About the fusing issue. I do not see how more play time helps anyone in these cases. More play time only makes someone hit the point where they need more orbs faster. Fusings are a case where I think they are slightly to rare. Their worth has been going up and up and up. They are not even all that rare, but unlike most other items they are required in massive numbers to get your needed outcome. Getting a 4L item, with 5 or even 6L weapon/chest is required for the starting point of most end game gear. Its not to get a "Perfect" roll on gear like using some of the other orbs (more rare orbs). They are used at the basic level of builds and crafting. I would like to see the price (aka rarity) of fusings increased a bit. Other than that I like the rest of the orb system. |

5 and 6 LINKS. Not 5 and 6 sockets. PS: You have a much greater chance of 4 links if the item has > 4 sockets.
I never got 4 again either. Why don't you stop talking? FFA loot = single player game.

" If it was up to me you would be permanentaly banned from this game, even after release. |

" I think - like so many people in this thread - that this is a hot button issue, whereas chaos orbs aren't, because you're either intentionally or unintentionally missing the main point. (It's probably blindness or cognitive dissonance, and it'll go away as you learn to see other people's points of view.) NOBODY is stupid enough to think that a Chaos orb is going lead to item progress, except perhaps someone so new that they've only seen a small number of rare items. That is different than fusings/chromatics/jewellers', which people ARE stupid enough to think will improve their item, because it LOOKS LIKE THEY WILL. And yes, you don't have to go through the process more than once to realize that your stack of 25 orbs of fusing isn't enough to improve your item from R-R-B R to R-R-B-R, but I'm pretty sure there's no warning label on the orbs that tells you that, and (unline Chaos orbs, which reroll things along about a dozen vectors) the small number of rolls the Fusing is making makes it seem not unreasonable for that to happen. Hope that helps relieve the blindness or cognitive dissonance. |

" Please explain yourself? Why would you want to do that? Because I was using some sarcasm in my post? Is that forbidden in the PoE forums. I apologize for that. It could also be that I misunderstood your post. It didn't give a lot of information to go on. Perhaps you should have explained what bullshit you meant. |

I'll put in my two cents, I don't think completely removing the chance to downgrade is good for the suspense factor and the thrill of using orbs, but for things like fusings (NOT chaoses) the odds should be stacked maybe 75/25 in favor of more links.

This game is ALL about randomness, removing randomness and this game wont last long.
For the linking problem, for god sake never roll your current weapon and if you roll for links use multiple items of the same type. This game is not all about mindless grinding, yea I said mindless since the randomness makes it possible for people with less time to get good stuff. If the game had no randomness (extreme case) it would be a slow and mindless grind to get any good loot. |

" Isn't the game really about progressing and increasing the power of your character(s)? Action RPGs tend to have very simplistic game play, which means they are dependent on the character progression element to keep the game interesting. I'm not sure a fully unpredictable crafting system - where hours of grinding and resource gathering may end up in a negative result - is the best way to go. |
