Loot system discourages group play

Timers actually make the current system feel worse imho. If an item has your name on it you feel ripped off when it's stolen because of ping or other reasons. Without it, you don't feel ripped off because everything is up for grabs. I've had cases where I click and click on the item and it doesn't pick it up only to get it stolen.

Yeah, this too.

I don't know if there's a pebble in the way or something, but double or triple picking is often required.

So, so frustrating. Say what you want about D3, but they got this right.

If you're gonna have instanced loot then please allow loot to spawn for you while you are in town/far faaar away from other players but within the same area. Otherwise you literally have to huddle in a group even with friends unless you want to miss out.

Alternatively instanced monsters, but that will never happen >.>"

This encourages players to not huddle together and instead spread out and search a map quickly. You can have 6 people in a party, you can split off in to pairs of 2 and explore in 3 completely separate directions and no one in that party of 6 is any worse for wear.

So if you acutally play as a party you are at a disadvantage. Great argument against FFA loot btw, thanks.

If loot was instanced then everyone would have to always be close enough for there own share of loot to spawn or else the total amount of loot available to the party is reduced.

Did you consider that maybe people playing single player while in a party just to get more loot isn't exactly a good thing?

Also the current system means players can return to town without missing out on loot as there partner continues through a dungeon. This is a good thing when playing with friends.

Yeah, so now players can go back to town and then return and loot stuff from mobs they didn't even see. That's fantastic, go FFA loot!
I think instanced loot would be as bad as FFA. The current timer is a great idea but it’s too short for most players to be comfortable with. Increase it by 5 seconds and the forum rage will die down.

Loot should NEVER be assigned to player who are in town or outside of the instance.

Okay I'll be blunt with what I was trying to say. FFA Loot system is best in a perfect world while Instanced Loot is best in an anonymous world. So FFA is arguably better when playing with friends and Instanced is good when playing against people you don't know.

I do agree with the idea that the timer should be extended if it is to have any meaningful impact. It is still too short for all players to have a chance to see the item let alone get any words out about it before it gets looted.

I just came out of a party, i had problems killing merveil on my own and thought to try the group sytem. All went well, boss died. I saw items drop, but when i got around to seeing what items was what, all good items were gone. I felt robbed of my items, so i joined another party, killed boss again, same experience, no shiny items for me. I thought third time is the charm. Same shit happened again, only junk items were left.

So, this sucks, sucks big time. I really completely enjoyed them game, but now i feel it (or its players) is cheating me. This honestly sucks. Why can't each party member get their own loot? Why must a few arses/fast clickers get all loot? Definitely no more groups for me (though sadly it seems some bosses are meant to be dealt with by a party)

(I read about timers, hmm, i hardly noticed them, sometimes i saw a player name near an item, but it disappeared before i could even read the name, is that supposed to be a timer? WAY too fast. Also read how this wasn't perceived as a big problem in the closed beta, but the closed beta had dedicated players, that invested (money, probably time as well) in the game, now the game is open for public a new kinds of players shows up)
Hmm, I haven't joined a group yet myself, but if it is indeed the case that people don't individually get loot, but instead have to decide amongst themselves who gets the loot, there's going to be a lot of problems. People are assholes and are greedy by nature; this game isn't going to change that. Instead it should incorporate a loot mechanic that recognizes the inherent assholish nature of humanity and give use individual loot.
They really need to increase that pickup time. It's almost suicide for some casts to try and pick up loot in the 2 second window.

It's the main reason why my friends don't play together. It just causes people to argue fight sometimes.

I am 100% in full support on making individual loot, or having the reserved pick up time like 3-4x what it currently is.
People who take your loot are not 'arses' or bad People, or even rude. They are infact just playing the game as the devs intended.
Blaim the game, not the players.

Do you speak for the devs? The last public post from any dev is over a year old. How do you have any idea what the devs actually intended?
