Loot system discourages group play

Development public posts made about loot tension are over a year old. We have no idea if there intention includes players avoiding co-op entirely. Or if there vision included veteran player telling the new players to 'Learn to like it or GTFO'.

My point is that you are attempting to speak for the devs by using extremely outdated posts.

Old =/= outdated.

Maybe they have changed their minds, but until that is reflected in the game it doesn't matter.
We KNOW the intentions with the current system and that is all that matters if you play the game as it is now.

Excellent point. Can we both agree that they should take a second look on how the system is affecting Non-alpha open beta leagues and post some updated information?

Yeah, I agree.

Pretty much, nobody likes to group up with new players via the party system because of the method used to handle loot. The only thing that is going to happen is, GGG is left with a very small group of hardcore fanboys who alone cannot support the game for many years to come. Therefore, the game will just disappear and die, putting all the years and effort spent making this game go to waste.

Oh, please. Save the drama for your mama.

PUBLIC GAMES ARE PACKED!!!!!!! People are loving this game.

Its only a minority of D3/WOW carebears with entitlement issues that seem to have a problem with the Old Skool loot feel of the game.

Maybe this game isn't for you. Maybe you should move on. People who play PoE do so because of the old skool ffa feel. Get it though your skulls. :D

Either play alone....or don't play.

I mean how hard is it to implement a solution that will leave both parties content?

While creating a party just add a checkbox that says: "Permanent named loots" or something.

So when you select it, all the loot that is dropped for that party's instance will be permanently assigned to a certain player, without the countdown.

The "hardcore" crowd can keep on playing as usual, snatching items from each other.

Entitlement....

The bottom line problem with the loot timer.

Its not yours. People are not snatching 'your' loot.

Exactly. Which is why we want to change it. Is that so hard to understand?
This is beta right? So why not put the option in the game and see the effects. I bet right off the bat you will see a lot more people playing in groups then currently.
If you add an instancing option, all it does is further fracture the community.

FFA loot is better for progression, even if everyone gets the timed drops that are allocated to them. It revolves around white items. In a party you get 3x more of them.

People will make instanced parties not realizing that they are progressing more slowly. You'll make instanced parties not understanding this basic fact. And the rest of us will have to choose between slower progression or solo play.

Not a fan of an instanced option. Doesn't mean I'm a ninja, I just understand how the loot works. And I don't expect that same understanding from the rest of everyone. Hence, the existence of this thread is expected.

I don't have alpha access, that was a LONG time ago.
Individuals who know what too look for progress more quickly, not the average player who doesn't know what sells for a Chromatic or how to stock up and sell for Blacksmith and Armorer Scraps and Glassblowers.

In this case the other player are still being exploited, they simply aren't aware their performance is being exploited.
