Would you want PoE 2?

A couple of years ago when Chris was still guesting on PoE podcasts (can't remember which one) he said that he estimated 3.5 years to move PoE to another game engine. The entire database of game objects would have to be converted to what the commercial game engine format is. Then every animation sequence would need to be tested with every other animation interaction to ensure compatibility. The zone and maps would also need to convert to the new engine. Essentially the whole game would have to be re-engineered around a different graphics engine. All this work to get smoother play in a 5+ (nearly 6 years for me from OB) year old game. So no way TencentGGG is going to want to do that.
Then the next logical question is - do they have plans for a sequel atm? I hope they do since it is very possible PoE is not the most played aRPG in a few years from now.
Yes but not bcos of engine but gameplay.
Gameplay depends on engine. You can't have good gameplay/combat on crap engine.
Path of exile 2 sounds good. better engine yes please offline possibility? i would say yes to that.

still u have no idea if it's going to fail or not? and risking losing poe 1? i wouldn't dare to risk my fav game of all times xd
3.26 when?
Don't abandon us. don't turn your backs on the ones loving poe.
C'mon these are not the D3 devs, they won't suicide them with PoE 2. I personally would love to see the setting and story of PoE expanded to places beyond Earth and booted on a superb 2020 engine. Oh man, that would be so epic!
Get out.

Thanks for all the fish!
Sure.
Whats next, PoE Immortal?
Yes, sort of...I'd love to see CW and Co leaving GGG start a new company I'll call GCCG to create a whole new HARDcore ARPG with all that they've learned with POE.
