Are you finding Divination cards useful or fun?

Iv actualy found the GCP card very usefull. As the area it drops in is fast and easy to farm and has low end map ExP gains.

I started farming thare to try to get some GCP's so i could tick over my level 20's to Q%20 but soon found that getting 1-2 cards each run on avrage with the speed i could do the run at that thare was no need to tick over from level 20 , i could just straight up GPC my gems to 20/20 , saving me a ton of time.

Also i noticed another side effect , when i found a gemcutters box that rolled q15 % gems. since getting gcps was much eayser i could simply gcp up the ones i wanted and vendor the rest, getting 2 gems for my build and making a fast 60 chaos.

Just a sec let me grab a beer...@#*@ Ok how did I die this time

Learn the rules, it's the only way to exploit them.
Right now Divination Cards are just a cruel joke GGG is playing on us all. The rewards for most cards are bad and/or uninteresting (stack of 40 Wisdoms or 1 white ring, come on GGG WTF is up with these shitty rewards?). Some are of value, but the farming time required to attain a full stack is once again only rewarding the no-lifer elites. The other 99% are again being ignored (same as always). Farming specific zones for specific cards is ok in theory but to have to spend so much time in lower level zones so not much xp/hr is generated is shameful and certainly a waste of our time resources. GGG should do us all a favor and up their drop rates across the board and rework the ones that are just an insult for a reward (for example The Metalsmith's Gift which only rewards us with a normal Prismatic Ring. Not even a rare Prismatic? WFT!).

I think a better solution is for GGG to rework zones so that once we defeat the Merciless end boss and are only left with mapping then all Merciless zones and maps should be on a sliding difficulty level scale such that we never are playing a zone or map more than 5 levels below our exile level (We should all obey the Law of Fives). That way we can play a build all the way to level 100 and get up to level 95 maps and zones. Of course that means that maps will need to be tweaked and rebalanced for the higher levels available but then we can farm zones forever for cards as desired/required and simultaneously be getting enough xp to feel like we are progressing fast enough. If we deliberately want to play a lower level map then we will have other builds at various levels to acquire lower level maps from. This would also incentivize players to work on multiple builds at the same time.

"You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

I consider most of them a waste of time to actually go out and farm for.I've handed in around four different complete card sets and mostly
converted the prize to orb shards...... not very usefull.

The currency rewards are ok as they're sufficiently additive to a farming sessions haul as a whole. But the item reward cards are pretty useless to me,much in the same way the campaign quests that offer a rare item are.

Having rewards that basically translate to a couple of currency shards isn't a very desirable reward for time spent collecting. As if I'm seriously gonna waste time, currency and effort to roll a one-two link item into something remotely usefull socket/link wise, even if it's stats are better than my current gear.... it'd be a waste of orbs.

The idea of the cards is pretty cool, but their worth as a game feature is very limited and currently don't give myself any incentive to farm them.

My tow cents =P

I'm disappointed in the creativity of the Highgate supporters in general. I mean seems some people can't come up with something more original/fun than currency? Ok the 5 random currency is ok, but 1 chaos/3 chaos/5 chaos/10 chaos/1 gcp/20 fusing/5 regal/1 exalt/3 exalt/10 vaal orb/10 regret, really?? You pay 1100 dollars to design a card to farm for some orbs ? The Carrion crow sounds useful for leveling but in reality it's pure crap, too much luck involved to actually get something worth using.

This is basically what I was going to respond. It's funny, the new card coming out is yet another currency card. Come one guys... you dish out that kind of money and THAT is your dream card? /smh

I had a nice post typed up on this before but decided that it was involved enough that it warranted it's own thread. See here for why saying that the Highgate Supporters are not necessarily to blame for the lackluster cards: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1372830

The long and short of it is that GGG is severly limiting what we can and can't do. So unless you already have a unique in the game, you are pretty much limited to either currency or a unique that either
A) no one wants/needs or
B) is so highend that the cards are rarer than the item itself is anyway

The fault here lies heavily on GGG, not the supporters.

Yeah, that's pretty terrible. Good info. I'll take a look at that thread.
Cool addition, but drop rates is so low its not worth it farming some zones.

At least it brings something new into the trading economy.
NO. After trying to farm some decent (poh) 5 hrs in docks and no card to show for it out of 9 mind u - I concluded why not just trade for item itself? 1/20th the time. Cards are stupid as hell. Not good enough for self found. Waste of time if you trade anyway.

Cards belong on a SFL dropping way more - otherwise sure I'll collect them but I'll never hunt for them at current terrible drop rates and poor return on time investment.

Div Cards are pretty decent...

...if you watch a lot of Netflix

;)
As from the point of a newer POE Player i really love the Divination Cards.

Especially those with "Surprise, Surprise" Feature. It seems i have a big load of Luck in this game until now, which made my start into the game pretty descent, and these Cards where part of it.

"The Gambler" spent me "The Fiend" Card, "Jack in the box" got me an Aucity.

At least also the other Cards i found useful till now tho.

I think the main point - often -: it is not the cards that are useless (besides scrolls of wisdoms(?)). If you look at the Cards from a point of a good Sideeffect that could happen and don´t try to concentrate to farm them, then you wouldn´t be triggered to a negative mood because you don´t find what you are farming, if the card you are farming for just don´t drop.

No, they're not useful to be honest and I don't find them fun. They were made to kind of help self-found players but in the end if you really want to complete a set of anything relatively useful you need to trade for them.... Counter intuitive. Most of them are boring as well

GGG's design philosophy in three words:
Quantity over Quality.
I'm finding them quite a nuisance. Its basically another full stash tab that needs to be dedicated to cards that serve no purpose whatsoever on their own.

I like them in theory, but yeah the stash space thing is irritating.
