PoE HUD done loot filter just fine, with GUI, no clutter. Ofc its not that powerful as script GGG's offering but it (HUD) covering 90% user cases and user friendly. That an example how it can be done the right way (2015 not 1998). And yes I aware what HUD is illegal to use, point is not about legality but how it can be done user friendly.

When you resort to the binary of 'what is' and 'the only response given so far', you've lost your argument.

I've said before, I'm open to an alternative. I'd *like* an alternative just as much. Without tearing down the foundation, there is none.

I've been begging for this feature since I started. Seeing people come out of the woodwork to say that what I want is essentially anathema to the spirit of POE is perplexing to say the least.

man Ant you just said it all without even realizing it. When your house is built on a shoddy foundation, do you keep adding to it? At what point do you realize some things are outright bunk and need to be redone from the ground up?

Because, believe it or not, I like this particular piece of real-estate.

I was going to say in my above post that I have seen no one suggest a viable alternative to what we are being given; actually, I did.

I've suggested on numerous occasions (directly to the devs) that a loot filter currently exists in the game, and I would be more than happy to use it. Wanna see?

Join a group, turn on short allocation. Make sure "show all" is off. If the items that were shown (and subsequently disappeared after a couple secs) just didn't go away, that would be fucking amazing. Whoever made this call at GGG decided to go the extra mile friggin continent. I'm grateful.

Ill answer your question with a question, what other ARPG needs one?

so no then, good.

notice how you don't want to answer 'no' to my question- because it pains you to. good.

now to answer your question

So your point? Nonexistent? Gotcha.

so to recap
Ive asked you to answer me which arpgs have a complex loot filter, you couldnt name any
then you asked me how many arpgs need a loot filter, Ive showed you examples.

and yet it's my point that is nonexistent ? hilarious ! excellent logic bruh, I can see now how you might have trouble writing a kiddo script kids write in their middle school classes, with that logic.
Oh I love this real estate too. I'm just not trying to build another wing onto a lopsided shack.

Its unwieldy, its obtuse and its just plain ugly. In the current proposed state, I cant get behind it. Counting on your community to fill that gap between pet project and an actual feature is lazy and uninspired.

It's like some kind of law. When more power you want to give to a tool, it will be less user friendly.

Have you seen Windows? It has great usability at the cost of having a lot less of flexibility. And that's ok. But filtering loot is inherently complex, so doing a UI (and mantaining it) won't be a easy task, and probably would have an oportunity cost asociated.

Feel free to complain if something actually simple should be done by code (like /itemlevel). That's something that really sucks.

PS: basic programming one day will be like reading. Everyone should know.

itemlevel will also be able to be seen by alt clicking an item, with the upcoming expansion.

You did? Which ones? Diablo? There's an orange star on yr map when something of note drops, why would you need a loot filter for that bruh-bruh?
