They don't wan it to be an in-game option because it would be way too complex, and using a GUI takes MUCH more time to create a script like this. It is very easy to write one.
Though i created an online tool for generating scripts, as you see using the tool takes a lot of time.

It's a bit different than that. They are giving the community tools to manage how their loot is filtered. Like many other companies give the tools to mod the game the way you like it. I see this loot filter as similar tool. GGG gives you the tools to modify it and if you cba to learn it, use the filters made by others. It can be only seen as a benefit (Don't like it? Don't use it. At best it's great QoL addition.) and there's absolutely no reason to get upset over it.

I think you're confusing the two. If I got upset at everything I thought was ugly id live my life pretty mad. That's not the case.
