THE Loot Filter should be -A- GAME OPTION, period.

@Grepman: I know. But again, you should expect fancy UI and easy toggeable options for simple things. For complex things, the script seems like a better solution.

PoE HUD done loot filter just fine, with GUI, no clutter. Ofc its not that powerful as script GGG's offering but it (HUD) covering 90% user cases and user friendly. That an example how it can be done the right way (2015 not 1998). And yes I aware what HUD is illegal to use, point is not about legality but how it can be done user friendly.

how did you estimate 90% use cases ?

something tells me you pulled it of your you-know-what

the loot of poe has is some of the most complex out there because of wide range of things that are considered 'useful'. some people like good white bases, some people like bases they can chance, some people dont mind picking up blue jewelry or blue bases for that lucky aug that can bring them fortune. some people dont want to id the item below level 60 for chaos recipe or below 75 for regal recipe.

now Ive never used the HUD but I'll bet anything a lot of this isnt even possible. the amount of customization the scripting offers is far beyond any interface can offer

socketgroup is for example something Im almost 100% sure isnt in the HUD

let me repeat, people complaining probably never ever tinkered with .ini files in their life to get a game running in the 90s

the qq of the plug-n-play ipod generation is hilarious

Its unwieldy, its obtuse and its just plain ugly. In the current proposed state, I cant get behind it. Counting on your community to fill that gap between pet project and an actual feature is lazy and uninspired.

Here's the thing: I agree fully with what you're saying. Minus the second sentence.

But, here's the other thing: I'm not sure how much more POE I could play without this functionality. My eyesight is getting continually worse. Straining myself to see if a 2x2-pixel block is connected to the other four 2x2-pixel blocks is taxing my ability to play for more than an hour at a time.

I can get behind what you're saying about the implementation. However, I can't grok this weird, loot filter is the harbinger of the endtimes vibe that I'm seeing from some of the older players.

So, yeah. The positives for me far outweigh the wonky implementation.

so to recap
Ive asked you to answer me which arpgs have a complex loot filter, you couldnt name any
then you asked me how many arpgs need a loot filter, Ive showed you examples.

and yet it's my point that is nonexistent ? hilarious ! excellent logic bruh, I can see now how you might have trouble writing a kiddo script kids write in their middle school classes, with that logic.

You did? Which ones? Diablo? There's an orange star on yr map when something of note drops, why would you need a loot filter for that bruh-bruh?
theres loot filter requests all over that google link I generously provided. google grim dawn and loot filter, google torchlight and loot filters

majority of MMO and ARPGs have needs for loot filters. majority doesn't get it from devs. for a single player game like GD or TL, there are mods specifically written by players to institute loot filters

so again, not only are you stubborn, you also refuse to accept facts lying right under your nose
Ahhh now I get the nonsense you're trying to peddle. So people "want" them. Sorry, those three games you mentioned don't need loot filters.
Don't forget to drink your milk 👌
also note I googled 'diablo' not diablo 3
you think d2 didnt have people needing loot filters

heres a recent ARPG/MMO I dont really play, but I bet theyd kill for our loot filter

this is hilarious though, lets see how many things you get wrong- truly entertaining my friday so far

My mistake im ESL :) how do you know its a company? Did you have to google it? Lol ,you seem keen on google searches

E: ya sorry it looked like wildstar to me? na I never played marvel and that looks awful but I still don't get your point? Where's the loot filter bruh?

E: second edit, back peddling seems to be legit.
