It isn't logical fallacy to see that the cheating that was supposed to be prevented wasn't, and that the harm desync has done to this game is very real. To that end, I would propose that we do one of two things:
1) Do what the TC suggested. The benefit of smoother game play and not dying in a way where people feel "cheated" by the engine is worth it, and the risk of cheating happening is still mitigated by the threat of ban for those who get caught. 2) Allow an offline, LAN, or "open" ladder (player hosted games) that is separate from the current ones. If people want to cheat, they can do it there. Legit players will likely stick to ranked ladder servers, and if they don't, that just proves the point about desync, doesn't it? While we can all agree on how harmful cheating can be to a game economy, the reality is that most of us are willing to put up with it for a better game experience overall. Desync really hurts this game, and it's my own personal opinion that desync is the primary reason this game doesn't have a player base about 100x larger than it does currently. |

Maybe if you had pointed something out specific that was wrong with the original post in question someone could explain to you why you're wrong, but since your post boils down to "lolz, u bad" (a noticeable pattern from you people) it's hard to say anything. Desync is the penalty that pays for the extra security provided by having things done by the server. In this case, it was proven an ineffective form of security thus making the penalty you all pay in the form of desync completely meaningless. Show something that proves that wrong or gtfo. my evasion is so high i only insta rip sometimes ----- Bug Fixes: People were using cyclone for actual melee builds, so we nerfed it and made blade vortex. What I'm pointing out is that unlike another company who would see something this problematic and immediately hotfix it, GGG is going to ignore it and hope it goes away until act 4 is released. At which point melee still won't be good, but they will probably introduce some bullshit melee unique (likely something that makes you less melee) so everyone can look at that bullshit mechanic and go "WOW! Look how OP melee is!" meanwhile ACTUAL melee builds without that particular item will be just as shit then as they are now. Mark my fucking words that is EXACTLY what will happen. Then the unique will get nerfed and guess what will still be shit? Melee, because everyone will still be unable to tank the damage output of regular map mobs in POE even with 120 points invested into survival. 4. Wealth in these leagues are you even kidding? Let me ask you a question how many exalts have you had ACTUALLY DROP for you? Now tell me how many exalts you have in your stash. Now answer me this question: how is it that everyone has all those exalts in their stashes and nobody is getting them as drops? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. 5. I have played PLENTY of games that I like and none of them "catered" to me. The fact that you are passing this off as an attempt to have GGG cater to me is a fucking joke and you know it. Melee is complete gutter trash right now. 6. Desync has been explained before: Yes it sure has. GGG has opted to pick internet videogame security over internet videogame gameplay. Thus desync. Which is compounded by poor map design and game mechanics like devourers, leapers, elementals, etc that pop up underneath you. Then there's stun, freeze, fast move speed, whirling blades, the list goes on. I've read somewhere Chris Wilson (might also be someone else from GGG) loved the Diablo 2 economy.
I've also heard from numerable sources that Diablo 2 was botting heaven, with bots providing runes and items to the economy. Not really what I would call a healthy economy to love. Also, GGG knows where Desync comes from, yet they outright refuse to design the game around it "because of botters / cheaters / anything". Punishing the law abiding to prevent criminals. Where did I hear that before? Oh Right. DRM for games. Denuvo and the likes. "Uncrackable", as they called it. Cracked after what, a few weeks? What I'm trying to say is: If your security measures cause grief to 100% of your rules abiding playerbase, but only prevents RAM injections, it sucks and causes harm to the game. And that "It will never be fixed"-mentality needs to go. That's the worst you can do. Never be fatalist. If you call something entirely possible impossible, you'll never try. Imagine the Russians hadn't made changes to the RBMK-1000 after Chernobyl because "It will never be fixed". Imagine the USA hadn't fought Nazi Germany because "There will always be national socialists". Imagine the NASA had said after Apollo 1 "We can't fix these flaws". A fatalist attitude in game development, or anywhere, is absolutely unacceptable. Ask yourself a few questions, GGG. 1) How could we fix or mitigate desync? Just brainstorm here, no pussyfooting. 2) What or whom do we need to do that? Don't make a list of things why you can't do it. Make one of what or whom you need to do it. 3) Where do we get what or whom we need? If you have answered these questions, just do it. If you keep on adding stuff like leapers, chargers, movement skills and such without working on desync, PoE will turn into an unplayable trainwreck sooner or later, and for good. Do you know how many people will play and support a game that's unplayable? Very few. Even your die-hard fans have a limit. We are going to shut down Beyond immigration into our maps until we find out what the Hell is going on!
