socket connections and economy woes: replacing a Tabula Rasa
" Um, you want vorici missions to give you 1500 fusings so you can 6L an item or how is anyone supposed to understand this comment you just made? Besides, if you want to get that damn 6L that seems to so very vital to your build i suggest you start POE, get on with some grinding the shit out of it for the fusings and craft your 6L. Do you really expect GGG to give you what you need instead of you working for it? And of course hes right, its called GRINDING gear games, emphasize on GRINDING, in case you missed it. You dont seem to understand the main concept of the game, plain and simple. Answer me how easy the acquisition of a 6L should be, because the whole thread is all kinds of "gimme my 6L because i dont want to grind" kinds of weird. |

You need a 6l? Easy. Farm for 20-40 hours. Trade the stuff you find for what you need. Done.

" He doesnt want to GRIND in a game made by GRINDING gear games, he wants it to be given to him without all the same hard work others put into it. D3 is instant gratification, POE is working for everything. Im not happy in POE, i dont get my 5L and neither do i get my correct colors, but D3 is also boring because every damn legendary i find is a dps upgrade, i dont even use them, because its too easy to up the dps. Maybe He would prefer D3 though, who knows. |

" you should absolutely take advantage of new leagues. In torment you can get 72-75 fusing for an exalt, making 1500 fusing = about 20ex give or take. Many uniques sell for an exalt, esp early on, best bet is to play something easy that works on a 4 link, get a ghetto 5 link, do as much as you can self found, stack rarity, use rarity as 5th gem slot. I did tornado shot, so tornado/phys proj/fast attacks/gmp/item rarity and for single target puncture/phys proj/crit damage/rarity.. just dont spent anything and keep farming, youll be surprised how quickly you can make 20ex worth of fusing. Then the world is yours, 6 link anything you want, at that point you can spend like 20 chaos on an really good unlinked chest and just vorici it. Your basically half way to getting a bis base item, tri res, 90+ life, 1800+ defense 6 link chest with 10ex, but you are in the wrong league. I care more about perm leagues than temp leagues, Im not saying abandon standard, but if you want nice things in standard its far easier to bring them back from a temp league. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

" Far from it. Your only option is to find upgrades, in-game, not on poe.trade search GUI. " No it isnt. Trading for gear / orbs / content = instant gratification in PoE. When night falls

" I want to grind with a purpose, rather than "just grind" hoping for some divine RNG lightning to completely randomly strike my trouser pocket. prove my skill against challenge, and get rewarded according to how hard that challenge was, rather than save up fucking dollars from a fucking secondary full-time job opening digital barrels and butchering trash mobs, then converting those dollars at some flea market, and using them to buy stuff at same flea market. I want my super-build-finishing-maxing-out 6-link, to be the result of accomplishments. lots and lots of successive, increasingly harder-to-do accomplishments, which may actually take the same amount of time, as grinding rocks for 1500 freshly-economy-converted Fusings, but a hell of a lot more effort and skill. which makes you feel like "FUCK YEAH I'VE DONE IT!" rather than "oh god 500 more Fusings to go... oh god... *spits teeth out*". I want, TL;DR, risk/reward. and I will never get it because "economy" is the most. fucking. important. thing in this game, and RNG is its undisputed prime god, which accepts no bias and cares not for the achievements of puny mortals. now, do you finally get the whole. damned. picture, Dirk? " You are playing the wrong game. Seriously. You want a game where progression is based on player skill. The progression in PoE is (largely) based on time investment/grinding. |

" Yeah i get it, youre bitter than GGG made a game based on grinding and trading and you hate the trading part and you seem to dislike the rng part of grinding. |

" Lol, you still don't realize both is the exact same thing. It doesn't matter if you find items in D3 or find orbs in PoE which you then trade for items, it's essentially the same thing. There is no instant gratification, you have to grind in both cases. GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

" There is no skill based gameplay in most PvE games and especially not in ARPGs. The economy has nothing to do with the fact that PoE is mainly about grinding your brains out, without an economy you would just get your shit faster. If you want to play skill games, I'd recommend the Touhou series or some good old Tetris (try getting the Grandmaster rank) :) GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
