We gotta do something about the state of trading.
additionally, an offer/buyout based system would prevent all these goddamn shill bids we see in game, and in threads in trade. If you have to review each offer, rather than assign a static value to currency, that'd be amazing: no shilling. Just sell for the best offer, or what you need most: people could even offer other equipment in trade!
That'd be amazing. http://i.imgur.com/kyhjZoN.png

![]() A rough sketch I drew up. Similar to D2's trade channels on bnet. I played it for ten years and sorry for the bias. You can select between trade channels that way a limit of 30-50 players per channel or so can be imposed for traffic. Has a general chat screen for conversation. Another screen for private messages to avoid clutter. On the left each player in the channel is represented in the boxes labeled 1. Next to it is a section for ads. Show a few main items here to remove some of the periodic chat ads. Would be able to left click on a player's icon to view their single public stash tab that everyone would have. Maybe option to buy more. In it would be that player's items they want to show and trade. Is similar to the forum system used now but with an in-game gui. Keeps people online for trading but not much pressure to afk for a few. Keeps the barter system with a player conversation oriented search function instead of an AH's automated search. Looking for something from someone you have to ask/look around. Similar to a bazaar from games like FFXI, played for 3 years. Would be able to right click a player's icon for various commands such as trade, invite, add as friend, etc. Can trade between two player's stash tabs so wouldn't need to invite to party unless a player has items not in the trade stash tab. |

" I think this is a pretty cool idea. It would be a nice way to improve it I think.

in another similar thread, I posted this in reply to a noticeboard based listing of items:
Spoiler
" This covers a lot of the ground I've preached on in this thread, but I wanted to mention this could pair really well with the idea of public tabs, or the interface made by dpuharic. Imagine going through listings on one side, and stash tabs with WTB lists on the other: that'd be great. Maybe tomorrow I'll rake my brain and do a mockup of my own. http://i.imgur.com/kyhjZoN.png

I would like to propose an auction stash system, let me know what you guys think.
Instead of players selling in trade by yelling every few lines, allow us to deposit any items we want to sell in an 'Auction Stash' (name to be confirmed). This would be an additional stash in town where you drop items you wanted to trade. You can also search for items you need at the auction stash by entering in the common parameters. For example: Search -> Bows However, besides item type, you would not be able to customize it further. By choosing bows it would search for bows appropriate for your character within a 10 level range or similar. Once you had done this, the items in the 'Auction Stash' would fill up randomly with level 40-50 bows if you are a level 45 character that other people had put in their Auction stashes. You can then hover over the items to see the stats and the current owner of the item. Upon right clicking, you can send that person an offer for that item. Alternatively you could just whisper them. The person who is selling that item would receive a message stating the name of the item and the offer which would just be a typed message eg: Strong Bow of Butchery - 2 x exalted. The player could then click a prompt to say yes or no to the offer. Because of the random nature of the items populating the stash tab when people query, the person shouldn't receive too many offers to interrupt gameplay but should get enough interest to warrant a sale. If the offer is accepted, both players would receive a message to inform them to meet up with each other and dispatch the trade - this could also be automated if you want but I believe the interaction during the trade is important. I think this system could be pretty fun to use as still retains the aspects of trading and barter which makes things great, you could send multiple requests and offers to someone and make it a fun trading game. PS: I am pretty happy with the game as it is regardless, but maybe trading could be a little more interactive for certain purchases. For example its pretty tough to find gear specific for a certain build - let alone good examples of it. TL;DR: Auction house system with a twist If anyone has already suggested something like this, I apologize Original thread: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/89840 |

" +1 A big issue with the trading forums as they currently stand is that even using the fan-made search (which is great), the results often show items that are already sold. And the biggest bomb of all: cross server trading is not possible as far as I know. I've tried to buy a ton of stuff only to find the seller is on the US server when I'm on UK. And the less said about the in-game channel the better; it's a disaster. So yeah, no point in all that lovely orb design / bartering system when it is so difficult to make contact with someone you want to barter with. Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.

" I hope you do know that the game is one big realm right? Only the login gateways are different. You can easily trade with people from the US/SEA/Oceanic region, you only have to be on at the same time. |
