We gotta do something about the state of trading.

I don't think we are getting an AH. Could be wrong but I think they will sell some sort of other premium/trading stash tabs which are then able to be displayed to buyers in game and on the forum. Maybe that is sort of an AH, but I don't know how it will work.

I made a thread on alch shards a while back and really think those suggestions will help. Would appreciate if GGG people take a look and comment.

I whole-hearted believe that currency item should be allowed to split. In fact I think I added a few posts. It is 100% viable and there is no reason why it should be neglected.

EDIT: In fact Im going to bump that thread

Congrats Chris & others for cashing out! I don't blame you. I'll be saving money now... unless I start making a lot more. Can't wait to see if you guys start a new studio in six years! RIP GGG

Public premium stash tabs for trading sounds almost like P2W, I hope they don't that because goes against their core philosophy. It definitively is an huge advantage when it comes to progressing in the game and accumulating wealth. I would rather see my character slots limited to 5 than see that (in fact I think they should have done that since the beginning as is a major source of profit, maybe make extra character slots cheaper).

What they could do is give one or two limited free trading tabs and add extra premium ones as a microtransaction (you can always use extra trading accounts, it would just be more inconvenient to manage stuff), just like it happens with normal stash tabs now.
For the moment, until GGG implements better trade system, we can use this to search:

http://poe.xyz.is/

(O naa, maah keeys)

dont worry, its safe.
Don't Touch my Sweep please GGG!

trading take too much damn time auction house would save so much time and NO it wouldn't ruin the game
Orbs are already a currency so I have no clue why people are crying about inflation
Just let us put up items and let people offer on said items and when you come back later you pick what offer you like best
its that simple
and don't even try to say that it would ruin the game
If you don't want a auction house you don't have to use it
Hey,

I've come across the same issues OP discussed.
It's rather unfair to see the same people spam their items in the trade channel over and over, not giving others a chance to present their wares to the public.
I am specifically referring to the recent -annoying- trend where it is now "cool" to spam your message in trade channel twice in rapid succession.
Most of the items these people are offering are totally worthless, and I have no interest in buying hardly any of them.
So I have to resort to the forums, where we have problem #2.
I want to search for say, a 5L chest with evasion and armour, and I will type this in the "search topic" function; What follows is a list of every trade there has been, involving the 5L chest I was looking for, but alot of these threads contain like the OP said, old or dead topics.
I have to say I haven't thought of any possible solution to that, but it's really nice to see some of your ideas.
I would like to see some kind of "marketplace" where you could search specifically for goods that you are interested in, although I do appreciate the challenge the game offers now to try and get the gear you need, and also to try and sell any of your own wares.

Thanks,
Lee.

i got an other idea, well its not really mine since i got the idea from an other game i used to play, called conquer online. in that game there was a designed map called Market place where people could set up shops and stand there as a merchant, they would have to stay still as they are the merchant and if they want to move they would obviusly have to close down their shop to do so.

this way it is not really an auction house, and its better then the trading we have now.

heres a picture of the Conquer online version of this:

in the shop you set up, you will have like 20 slots you can fill with what ever your selling, and are able to put a price on them, the prices you set are what they will go for, its not a bidding but you can ofcause pm the person who owns the item for sale and ask if hes got a price hes willing to self for beside the price he listed it for.

the shops that has been set up in the market can be given a title, lets say i got high quality gems for trade, i could write that as my "banner" and get the attention from those who are looking for gems. or if its just 1 item i could write the specifics including the price.

in any case its better then the auction house< i really dislike the auction house ideas> and i kinda liked the whole setting up a shop in Conquer online as it was. but well if i dident i wouldnt have suggested it ;)
There should be a separate server for the plebes that want to ruin the game like this.
All we really need is better search options for the trade forums.

AS for the AH people. It would be bad and this is why.

You just got a 1point shy perfect awesome rare/unique. Now you want to sell it. Well since there is an AH all the perfect rolled items are sought after. Since you can see every item from the 100,000's of players and search them in the AH your item, even though its only 1 point shy, is now next to worthless. Why buy a less than perfect when its so easy to find a perfect? With that many people finding gear it will be easy to find "the best" items. Items will be pushed into 2 categories, the "Perfects" and "Everything Else"

With the barter system (which needs a lil work I agree) Your 1 point shy item is worth almost as much as a perfect. It seems a little silly that a smaller market base increases the value of your goods but it does.

Supply and demand.

In an AH the supply of "Everything Else" will become so great the value will plummet, and the supply of "Perfects" will go up, true, but the demand will be so great the prices will skyrocket. This is inevitable with any market really, but an AH will leapfrog us to that point much faster.

Now for my last point against an AH.
It creates the mentality of "Get it now". Which is bad for any game. When this game takes so long to "max out" the "Get it now" message of an AH is in conflict with the spirit of the game.

When you work for your drops; whether by grinding out the levels and gear, or grinding the forums looking for your items; You put effort into it. Even after finding the items you want on the forums you still have to barter for them.

The sense of satisfaction of your effort is what I get out of this game. That is where video games came from. That is where I feel this game is created from. You put effort and you will not always be rewarded.(Gotta love the RNG) But, when you are rewarded that satisfaction will carry on far beyond this game. "Get it now" cheapens the overall experience.

Just my .02 of ramblings.
May the RNG be with you always.

I like that idea. But how about instead of having to stand there you can pay a certain fee to "open a shop" and it will be there for say 2 hours. That would be better because it can get quite boring having to sit there waiting for people to buy your stuff...
