Do we expect too much from GGG?

GGG's been doing a good job. Took them only hours to fix the bug. Every game has its flaws, and PoE is certainly not perfect by any means. While GGG's trying to solve the issue, what do most haters do? They cry, like the crashing server bug has anything to do with them not being able to create a solid build and enjoy the game. This is a free to play game afterall. There's little to no pvp in PoE. Part of this is that people butthurt when they don't get what they want, this happens in almost every game, and I feel it's unnecessary to bring this up. Whoever used the exploit should get a permanent ban, that part I agree, but crying about it in multiple topics is not going to help them solving the problem.
I find it hard to judge GGG's response without knowledge of how detailed their logging is or what the logs were capturing with the crashes.
You can't expect people to not play around with the vaal totem bug so a fair amount of people must have found the ice nova crash.
Technically inclined or naturally curious people will play around with a bug before reporting it even if they have no intention of exploiting it for gain.
If you've ever worked on software you know the more detailed a bug report the better.
I personally would have tried all the stuff Ghudda did on stream if I found it and then reported it all.
Also GGG has generally taken responsibility for their mistakes, not holding it against players for finding exploits 100% perfect QC would have caught.
To me it seems like GGG is just trying to be fair, they'd rather risk a few cheaters slipping through than mass perm banning every inquisitive person.

Nope. Fix desync , cant wait more 15 years. Thanks have a nice day !
Anyone using the exploit over 10 times surely crafts / rolls back, those should be Permabanned!
mainly, it's the end of league so soon, and that doesn't scratch them a little.
No Problem,

GGG has spoiled us. Shame on them, right? =^[.]^=

Do you genuinely believe that if 100% of the community shared your attitude the game would have come this far?

If everyone just gave them a big virtual hug and told them they were amazing no matter what, would they have any motivation to do well?

Serious question.

On topic, I think we would be expecting WAY too much from GGG if they didnt set themselves up for this.

You cant just promise everyone the best game ever through the guise of absolutely amazing development and say fuck it and start doing something else while expecting the same feedback.

Anyone who actually gives GGG a hard time (for more than a couple threads before rage quitting) has been here for a long time. Long enough to see how awesome GGG used to be. Long enough to see GGGs old vision of PoE.

"just for try, for see and for know"
i expected and wanted "too much" from GGG too, but we are all human=>we are all NOT perfect and maybe everything we can do is also not perfect... :/ so let's just hope GGG will do their best to make the game better and we'll have fun with the game more! :)

This.

The reason not everyone was permabanned is because a lot of people (*coughGhuddacough*) were dumber enough to do it, and even stream it. There is sufficient evidence they were just doing it for the science in some cases.

I'd rather be lenient and not overly punitive.

About the original topic: yes, people are too exigent with GGG. Unless you are talking about technical issues, no one should rage. And even with technical issues, there are a lot of reasons about why they weren't solved yet (well, at least for graphics).
It's painful to see a lot of people go cynical about the game. It was like some kind of aRPG messiah, :P

Clearly.
Noblesse oblige
@title: Yes. However I am tired of their nerfing habbits since almost all my chars has been reduced to non viable trash through their unrighteous nerfhammer.

Now ppl whine about crit and my current favourite char is crit dependent (CoC) and NOT one of the retardedly OP builds. From experience I know they will break my char, once again.

But I'm noticed that I am playing the game less and less anyways, only logging in to murder Vagan, fleeing for my Life through haunted Caves or to just vandalize a paradise. Íf they break CoC I will stop playing. I feel that I invest too much time into my chars to just get them outdated each nerf patch.
