Do we expect too much from GGG?

" Dude, come on. Get a grip. Disagree with the bloke all you want, but its people like him that allowed this game to be made on the scale it has been. == Officially Retired 27/02/2019 == Massive thanks to GGG for producing such a fun and engaging game, it has taken up faaaaaaar too much of my life over the last 5 years. Best of luck in the future! Last edited by Jared_GGG#0000 on Nov 20, 2014, 3:40:57 PM

" Yea why give some rare deserving credit and positivity amid the sea of garbage filled rants and immature crap? I mean any average joe (not you of course, you must be a real genius and expert intellectual evaluator) can create a PoE and build GGG to where its at now. Dark_Chicken - lvl 100 Marauder

Topic ended in double topics: Expectations and Crit.
Expectations: I tend to not expect that much, that being said, when a person (or in this case, a company) really shows what they are capable of I start expecting a little bit more. It's more like a "horizontal" expectation. I do not expect them to go way over what they have already done, but I do expect most aspects of the game to be equally good. For example: I really think the gem and passive systems are extremely good, after that I started to expect something "as good" for end-game, progression, itemization, etc etc. I do realize that certain aspects of the game are harder to improve, but the fact that they shown such expertise and execution in one field makes me feel that they are very capable of doing so on other areas. PS: I do understand that points of view are what really matter on this, since I can feel some aspect of the game is not as good, yet it's just an opinion rather than an actual flaw in the game. Crit: Mixed feelings. On one side I feel crit chance and/or multi should have a cap (or diminishing returns) , but on the other side I don't like options to be taken from the game. I feel that multi is the one that should get the biggest hit, critical chance is on most cases what enables certain builds (status, CoC, charges, instaleech, etc etc). Crit Multiplier is just a damage inflation on the chance, so I see it as a better stat to balance since it won't make that many builds useless or underpowered. That being said, Acuity and Surgeon's mods on flask may require some balance even if multi gets rebalanced. Acuity is extremely expensive / hard to obtain so it should still be a very powerful item, surgeon's mods on flask are a bit OP in my opinion. PS: I know it looks like I'm asking for nerfs, I'm just stating my opinion, even after having leveled a Critnado Ranger to 91 on Rampage with 60%+ crit chance and 600%+ crit damage. --- Sorry for bad englando :) |

Been a fan and still am an advocate for this game for years now. I don't play anymore because I now know I am expecting too much from the game. It comes so close to scratching that diablo/titan quest itch that it just cries for perfection. The other reason I can't enjoy PoE as much as I'd like is exactly what mark said about people wanting something GGG won't deliver. This ultimately is the reason why I left and can't be upset about the state of the game or be unhappy with my time in Wraeclast. I just realized it's not my game and no matter how poor some of the choices are for my personal tastes it's ultimately my responsibility to understand that and move on.
I still hope GGG has all the success they dream for as there is obvious great talent that comes through in PoE and their MTXs. If you guys ever make an online optional PS4 version of PoE I'll be the first to buy it. ;) |

Everyone's expectations are different I guess.
I'd like to see some small quality of life fixes "once in a while" instead of just large things all the time. Draw a name next to the X's on the map, colour the leader's X different so I know where they are. Draw X's at the edges of the minimap so i can see what direction other folks are at. "Has left the group", been looking at that FOR OVER 2 YEARS. litle things that wouldn't take much time to fix but would improve the quality of life for everyone playing the game... |

"agree they could only give us A4 in 2 years, my jimmies would be unrustled if they gave us little bit of improvement in interface and improve boring parts like a3 ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it

" Thanks for pointing that out, I think I don't need to install the client to check out a next season. PoE is the only game for me, were the the solution to the problems is to not play it: " Maybe it is for some folks like me, the other way around, we expect less content and less problems with new content and less nerfs, maybe that is too much expectations and we maybe spoiled from other games. Anyway, have fun the 3 weeks in standard/hardcore and next season. See you around Feburary 2015, cheers. Last edited by Zogina#4115 on Nov 20, 2014, 10:22:22 PM
