REFLECT IS STUPID!
" There is no holy grail of development perfection you cannot trust anyone to do everything right. If someone does something right it does not mean he does not make mistakes. And reflection mechanic in PoE is just wrong. I have answered all arguments that protected reflection mechanic in this thread except "its good to punish certain builds and playstyles becouse other builds and playstyles dont suffer from it" but this one i find unadequate. " Barbs used 1 point Berserk similiar to sorceresses yes. And i cant imagine person playing barb or sorc encountering immune mobs thinking oh joy finally i get to use some weaker skills that i skilled just for this reason. Or new players that just got there and realised that they dont have anything to deal with it (same for PoE). Again challenge should be in game but theres challenge that is fun: boss/mob throws at you attack that u should dodge or shows that he is about to get stronger and you should escape or interrupt him or anything else. Thats a fair challenge that is fun. But when a game tells you oh wait you cant pass this you did wrong build go back and redo it and bring other skills or dont ever come back here. That is not fun. Its wrong in your opinion, that opinion is shared by some and not shared by others. Also don't see anywhere in the post you quoted that they said that GGG is incapable of making mistakes, merely that they know what to do for what they have in mind.

"D3 put different monster abilities to prevent glass cannons. Waller. Jailer. Vortex. Those are way worse than reflect if you want to talk about unfun mechanics. Guild Leader The Amazon Basin <BASIN>

" And all this abilities do not prevent glass cannon from doing what glass cannons purpose is DAMAGE. And with current lightning warp PoE would be fine with this mechanics it would actually bring more flavour to the game and i will welcome this abilities in PoE. The way you counter mentioned abilities is by skill and reaction and not by build or gear and this is good. Last edited by computerlame#2558 on Sep 24, 2014, 4:08:29 PM

So what your saying is because PoE has a way that would be able to deal with those abilities they would be cool....but Reflect is not cool even though there are ways to deal with it even for glass cannon builds?
There is nothing stopping a glass cannon build from doing damage which as you state is their purpose. The only thing reflect does is make it so that you either need to a) Pay attention b) Use an indirect damage skill (similar to your oh if Wallers and such were in just use Lightning Warp to deal with it) or c) Temporarily lower your damage for a bit so you do not gib yourself. None of those stop you from doing damage. Beyond_Bow_BobMKIII Level 80 Tornado Shot Scion

" In D3 all classes also has a way to deal with those abilities thats skillful and fun gameplay. a) make reflect an active skill with clear announcement that its coming and it will be fun skill checking mechanic. Rather than "oh look its a reflect mob dont shoot it you ll die... ok when can i shoot it??? Never! use your weak skills or bad weapon to tickle it to death!" b)c) using other skills than you usually do for dealing damage is the same thing that immunities in D2 require (why would i ever build glass cannon if i wont do more damage?) " Then let's dump the whole game. Having to get defenses to mitigate or avoid damage isn't fun, especially when you have horrible drops. See how flawed your logic is? Prior planning prevents piss poor performance. |

" Thats not my logic thats yours. Prior planning made me stop playing my character becouse better gear would kill me with reflect. Last edited by computerlame#2558 on Sep 24, 2014, 6:17:38 PM
