So GGGs decision was shitty to introduce reflect? Is that what youre saying? Also, wrong definition of trolling. Youre trolling if anyone in here does it at all.

Gotta agree to disagree here then because reflect is fine. Adapt to it, not it to the way you play.

i did adapted got my ranger to 90 and stopped becouse i have best gear (not really best but if i get stronger bow i will oneshot myself becouse of occasional reflects and i wont be able to deal with reflect maps anymore unless i change my skills that i dont want to do becouse i find my current skills fun) so theres no point in playing anymore.
Reflect is a mechanic that prevents me from putting more of my time into the game so its not good for the game as it is.
Thats why i entered this topic i want this game to be better thats all.
Also my first very strong frustration with this game (aside of OOS witch is harder for developer to deal with and is another topic) was reflect after i got my bow i was oneshotting myself and was about to stop playing becouse of it but i like to first try to deal with such problems and i looked into forums and found a cast on damage taken + immortal call that allowed me to continue having fun but still reflect is frustrating and annoying mechanic that does not make this game any good.

About the argument that if theres no reflect everyone will be glass cannon just look at D3 how much % of glass cannon players there are? Not much and people are looking at toughness to compare their characters along with dps.
Glass cannon builds while have often huge dps compared to others are almost always much harder to play becouse a mistake Will be a grave one and is much more sensitive to OOS problems that this game has a lot.

It's easy to say that Path of Exile is the spiritual successor to D2. D2 included mechanics like reflect and lightning thorns.

It makes one think more about their build. It's offenses, it's defenses, and etc.

I can understand if some aren't willing to play hardcore with such mechanics. But perhaps hardcore was never really for everyone.

If anyone complains about dieing in standard, then I can't relate.

HAHA make reflect hardcore only so you would be happy at least :) and you can facetank content all you want without making glass cannons suffer

the whole point of the game is to defeat the enemies in the game and get loot. You guys are complaining about the enemies getting in the way of your loot. You are missing the forest for the trees, reflect is just a pretty effective way for the monsters to stop you from getting the loot. If you want the loot, you gotta deal with the monsters.

reflect has several strategic counters and a few tactical counters, including skipping the reflect monsters, it is in a pretty good place right now.

( i have played characters that explode them selves on reflect, I know the feels, but I developed ways to kill the reflect monsters, making it a game of threat recognition, which is a good thing imo) Also I am currently playing basically the epitome of accidental off screen hits, ice arrow on a infractem bow, which means arrows go way way off screen, and I cant leech, and I still deal with reflect ok.
Hey...is this thing on?

in Diablo 2 there is element and several element immune mobs (also in Vanila World of Warcraft there were too) this immunities served one imaginable purpose: to cripple sorceresses (oh right glass cannon class) and to pass those mobs they had to skill nonprimary spells and do much lower damage with it or to get a bow) that was a bad mechanic no one misses it in D3 or new WoW or in any game. Reflect in PoE serves no other reason than element immunities in those games and is countered the same way - by dealing less damage with other skills or gear.

Well, those mods generally exist to make players aware of their surroundings and play carefully sometimes and not just spam 1 AOE skill that deals damage 10000000 screens over. If they removed reflect, what is there to kill people that die to it at the moment? Nothing. Thats why zooming out isnt something GGG will ever do, its as far out as it gets to make mobs see you and attack you and you see them and kite them. Its all balanced, GGG knows what to do.

If we are fanboys, then you are a flamer.

End of discussion.

Spoiler
Nice to see you can't do anything but call us fanboys. Goes to show that you have no valid argument.

Wait, so barbs didn't have to switch to a non-physical weapon when a physical immune monster showed up?

Oh, so the immunities were to prevent players from making narrow, focused characters and not targeted against sorceresses?
