People do realise that Daggers do more damage than 2Handers because of crit right?

yea its sad that daggers outscale 2 handers end game. #1 balance ggg

Daggers are fast and agile. Axes slow and heavy. Both have the right to be high damage. The only reason why daggers are 'better' is because of the efficiency in crit nodes and crit multiplier

exactly. people do appreciate just how incredibly strong the dagger nodes in the tree are, right ?

Would love to see more one handed weapons be viable, and especially two handed as well, compared to daggers. Sure, there will always be some weapon mathematically most powerful, but the current state of daggers or go home is just stupid.

More damage from a dagger from the safety of a shield than using a 2 handed weapon? Makes no sense at all.

wtf ?! 1H weapons are incredibly viable because you get block.

2H need some love. without block you are much, much weaker AND the damage from a 2H doesn't compensate for that unless you have a really top-notch 2H weapon.

but a pretty good 1H + a lot of block = really high survivability character.
1 handed is viable because you can stack block and never die, get Soul Taker and go full out dps and probably outdps 2 handers while laughing at how 2 handers have to get a Kaom's Heart to be considered viable (because it's hard to scale effective HP without block).

CI 2H is at a slightly better position due to being able to scale their life pool better but still don't compare to CI dagger builds.

Biggest problem I had when using two handed flicker in the 1msc was getting enough resits.

If I was using a 1 handed weapon and a shield I could easily get an extra 80 resist+++.

I wouldn't mind it if while using a two handed weapon you got some bonus resist or spellblock or something. Getting spellblock while using 2handed weapons is pretty hard even if you use staffs that have block chance. Over capping your resist while using a 2hander is also pretty hard.

I'm not convinced that crit is the problem at all getting good damage without crit is very possible with 2handed weapons. With that said would I like to see crit damage nodes / gem gutted yes I would.
Daggers were built around the fact they had poor reach... which ST absolutely breaks.
Daggers are waaaaay more difficult to roll than 2-handers (unless staff) so I am not sure if they should be nerfed in that regard.

With all that said I think 2-handers need some love, especially regarding defenses.
Who knows maybe we'll have a surprise with next passive tree change? Fingers crossed
Oblivious
Spectral Throw cannot be used with dagger <= easy fix :) ( but will never happen )

Daggers aren't the only problem with ST. The problem is that it circumvents the range limitations on melee weapons while keeping most of their superior damage. If they restricted it from daggers, people would just find a new OP combination with ST. There needs to be a fundamental change to how ST works, such as which nodes affect it or how its base damage scales.

I saw this as someone who likes ST as a skill. I've used it a lot and I think it's a good addition to the game. The scaling on it is just too good compared to other options, like using bows or actually fighting in melee range. Change the damage scaling on ST and suddenly it's not the best option for every weapon-based build. If it had lower damage effectiveness, it would benefit less from elemental auras as well.

Kinda missing the point, though. If you see two guys running towards you, one wielding a giant axe, the other a tiny dagger, who ya gonna be more scared of?

The other guy with the gun.
