Why is the economy on this game broken and how to solve it
Okay but why is it bothering you? Because it shouldn't be bothering you.
Nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.

" Thanks mate :) But you really should stop telling people RoS is a good game. Some poor guy might buy it... And you really should stop hating on Poe, which is not perfect, when you are playing that god forsaken game! Last edited by Bex_GGG#0000 on May 27, 2014, 5:03:35 PM

" An item is only worth what someone will pay for it man. You have two choices sell it for 10c and move on or wait for 20c and possibly never sell it. I say sell and move on. 10c is chump change bro.... |

" Yep! The price of an item is usually a bit under what you'll see on xyz. If all the items on xyz were priced appropriately, they would have sold already! IGN: SplitEpimorphism

We got told by Bex guys :x
To stay on topic, this thread shows that more often than not, someone's perspective of the economy is broken, not the economy itself. The same is true for many other (non)issues in this game :> GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

" Yep. It's not the designer's or game's fault, but of the players'. In the last 30 days, the game lost another 20% of those playing through Steam. The daily peak is now 50% lower than in March. It is also no longer in the daily top-25. Game's doing great, indeed! | |
" Oh but - Steam is useless and has no basis at all to be used in any sort of legitimate stat...
Spoiler
but if it were the case of a Steam increase in 500% played in the last 6 months you can bet your ass we would neg on that original statement....

" Nice doomsaying, but the game is doing fine. It just isn't for everyone, which actually makes it good, because when developers try to make games for everyone, they miserably fail. " This sounds a bit like rationalizing to me, though. PoE was never for everyone, and it was always niche, but it is losing players even within that narrow market segment. If numbers drop further, there will eventually be the point where it affects development, so lack of popularity does affect those who don't really care if 1000 or 20,000 people play. Maybe it does already? There haven't been new development members in a while, and major features like the new trading interface, are no longer even talked about. New MTX do seem to make a good portion of the new stuff we see or hear about. (That is my perception, and it may well only be a communication issue.) I cited neutral numbers that aren't biased or altered, and you can interpret them yourself. I'm not actually saying the game is dying. I, however, disagree with the view that the game doesn't have issues that need addressing, or that these issues don't affect the game's player numbers. (And Chris did mention increasing drop rates for uniques and making it easier to 6L stuff, so he either sees these as issues or he responds to players being dissatisfied.) PoE is the best ARPG since D2, by a very long stretch. It is because I feel that way that I want it to thrive, because for some reason no one else seems to be able to make a D2-like game with a secure, persistent online server. Closing my eyes to the possible reasons why people leave or don't stick around wouldn't be helpful. I don't want to see PoE fail, and I think you know that. But this is admittedly unrelated to the OP's issue of trying to sell his stuff at unrealistic prices. |
