Why is the economy on this game broken and how to solve it

I guess we need something between old school trading and Auction House, a good mash up of both would be nice.
Nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Personally, I'm not convinced the new system will even be competent enough to replace poe.xyz.is. If you can't tell if someone is online, people will just continue using the indexers and sending pms. At best, I think it will alleviate the need to drop what your doing for a face to face trade after a buyer finds you and your item through the websites. Which is a big plus, no doubt, but still a long way from a good trade platform.

The deal-breaker will be that GGG's new trading system won't support buyouts. So even if there is an asynchronous element (which supposedly there will be), you still have to wait and interact with people in dated ways. The waiting especially is an issue. I'd still rather go to poe.xyz.is, check "online" and then pester people, because if I want an item, I want it now and not three days later (and may not even get it then).

Indeed. Markets invariably seek efficiency. It would really be a shame if the devs just couldn't get their heads wrapped around this basic fact of human nature, and spent a bunch of time building a system people will hardly use. The game has fungible currency, not a barter economy. People want buyouts, as shown by the indexers. I just don't understand the aversion the devs have to being able to buy/sell with an agreed on price whether online or offline. If it conflicts with their vision, then their vision conflicts with reality, and they need to re-evaluate their stance.

Yeah - that in itself will suck.

Optimally I can go to an NPC, hand over an item, set a buy out for it, walk away and do some runs - check back on the NPC an hour later to see if the item sold. AT THE SAME TIME: if you set no buyout option, then it can still incorporate the current barter system.

I know this isn't how GGG envisions it - and it's yet another point of conflict between my views and their views of their game... but if you must - if you force us into having to trade... then you also need to facilitate the most easy trading methods for us. I don't really want to interact with others and run to act 1 to make a trade - then hopefully back to the point of my run where I was at. It's a complete break in game to trade and one of the main reasons I don't trade.

To often I see opportunities for GGG to keep multiple viewpoints happy in their game. There's no reason on earth why they can't EASILY incorporate a system that has "buyout" AND "make an offer" style of trading. They just make consistently stubborn decisions not to keep a larger portion of people happy.
The amount something is worth is only what someone will pay for it. This holds true in real life and translates to this game as well.

Why do you think the same exact exalt that is worth 40C now will be worth 25C at the end of the league? Its not a supply and demand item because at the league beginning an exalt was 25C when they were rare. It's because the perception of what they worth changed.

If everyone will only pay 10c for an item for sale for 20c, then its really worth 10c.
A huge problem imo is the economy in Standard. To anyone saying the opposite, have you tried to buy any decent item lately with a fresh account that has a few chaos only? Everything that's half decent costs 'x exalteds'. Not even speaking about gg stuff, that's a different thing. And the drops you get even at high levels are often bad. In the meantime, all the people who have legacy IIR/IIQ stuff get richer and richer, and prices rise and rise, making it all worse. That's not very welcoming for a new player. Now you might say 'then play the new leagues', but not everyone is aware of that, and sometimes you might wanna play on a character a while after the league. So imo, especially in standard the economy is really unfriendly to new guys. It's less of a problem in the temporary leagues.

The issue is that Standard league is the standard league.
