I would bet due to the F2P nature of this game the only way for GGG to get rid of rmt abuse is to go limited P2W and out compete the rmt at the majority of the lesser offensive rmt activities. Some things should always be outlawed and policed against of course but all the tiny, petty offenders should be giving their money to GGG.

IF you think that few insanely rich guys decide that "rmt war" is lost then you don't know much.

Extremists will always exist "war" is won on other places, such as gear prices and availability to common player /most players. That's what chris once said, that orb prices are still kept high by anti bot bans, so that they are mostly too expensive for average joe.

Now some op people do think that GGG is not too enthusiastically about banning most of RMTers, ie. customers, players rather then boters. This might be the truth, dedicated streamers are good source of promotion, banning them would probably do more harm then good and people who spend tons on RMT, usually spend much on game as well.

If I were them I would probably ban boters and sellers while I would only destroyed RMTed goods of buyers /orbs and otherwise left their accounts working.

GGG needs to make their efforts to combat RMT more public. Based on reading this thread it seems like people do not believe that anything is being done and this is exacerbating the problem a lot. Seems like a lot could be accomplished if the users and GGG cooperated to ban RMTers but for that to happen, users need to trust in GGG.

This could be implemented by having a forum where a thread is created once a week or so with a list of banned users, perhaps locked for comments.

Not exactly groundbreaking, but it is feasible and it could have a big impact on changing the opinion of people considering RMT, as well as swaying users who now feel like they are being ignored.

but what good is swinging the ban-hammer on the buyers, if none of the sellers get hit?

and how about taking this one more - necessary - step forward, and make the game one where a player can trust his/her own skill, rather than just trusting dumb luck, leading into trusting their wallets?

Any RMT going on has very little impact on the game. I think some of you just like to "hear" yourselves and enjoy the crusade. At the least, you definitely overestimate the impact it has on your gameplay experience.

The reason u want to go after the buyers as well as the sellers is that since it is done in public format all baned buyers shock other potential buyers into playing fair and not RMT cheating.

The game is F2P so if u get banned for RMT thare nothing to stop u from making a new acount This means fighting RMT sellers is more complicated however RMT buyers are not saved in any way from this. The fact that Poe is such a huge time sink almost makes it even more dangrous to buy RMT if the threat of ban is posible.


Sure the RMT buyer gets some shiney new toys however he could potential losse leveld characters , a risk most are not willing to take.


Also these players are cheating. It's that simpile , streamer or no , they should be banned. This has happend in the past as well keep in mind GGG has baned top streamers for RMT. Both for prolonged RMT use and purchesing RMT in a race. GGG cares more about thare game's integraty than the income a streamer can "potential" bring them.


In fact id even go as far as to say watching a streamer play the game if he is cheating with RMT can give people a false impretion about what to ecpect from from normal game play and be a negitive thing for GGG. How many people do we see comeing to the fourm crying about drop rates since they can not get the insanley rare gear thare favorit streamer is using.

This is why there are 4 month leagues.
