Played D3:RoS since release till now, heres the results!

I worked in McDonalds once and there was this guy who had some kind of pipette with which he put his spunk in burgers when nobody was looking. He was really proud of it and found it hilarious. He told basically everyone about it and even showed it to some when there was a chance. Nobody told the boss or did really bother about it. I am not kidding.

I finally caved in and decided to buy ROS last Sunday. I didn't like D3 much, and didn't even feel that I got my 60 buck's worth, but I figured ROS should offer enough improvements and content to keep me entertained.

But... No. Twenty minutes on my crusader and I realize I had forgotten how D3 used to make me feel. Empty, shallow, BORING. The game just puts me to sleep. There is simply nothing you can put your mind to. You start the game, you kill some monsters, and by the time you exit the game, there's just emptiness. Nothing to think about or consider. Even WHILE playing, there is nothing to think about at all. Just mobs with huge chunks of HP to take down. I had forgotten how true this was for vanilla d3 as well, and now playing ROS, I realize how bad this kills the game for me. That's not to even get started about the awful itemization and other problems with that game.

I think that this time around, once again I will not be able to get my money's worth out of it. Thay have fooled me twice, and the shame is on me for sure.

The hell is this? What you love getting garbage 99% of the time?

I'm not 400+ paragon (like you) - so I still find upgrades.

AND - I actually enjoy playing with pals even if I won't get loot (I do) I still enjoy their "after story" content. (Sorry trying to be PC for all those "end game" haters.)

POE has nothing on D3 right now. Smoother game - non gated "after story" modes - easier to join in with pals to kill bad guys - better guild systems - pretty much every aspect of gaming.

Please step up your game POE! Work on Desync - crafting - drops, plx.

My sentiments exactly. PoE has a lot of catch up to do, especially in the gameplay department.

Start on hard mode, don't start on "normal". I agree with that "normal" is a 100% faceroll, but "hard" poses sometimes a challenge if you start from scratch.

Also, crusaders are a tank class, so the danger of dying is smaller on them compared to other classes.

Your problem may be as simple as you chose wrong difficulty and wrong class :).

Edit: Normal is fine for absolute first timers who at the very least enjoy the story and the first playthrough. But once you've seen the story, you shouldn't start on normal with a fresh character.

There's little thought after you have picked your class and difficulty in RoS. I've gotten my money worth with D3 and ask nothing more from it because its already so simple. Its a good game but for me it lacks depth.
GGG listens to its fans!!! Thank you!

Do you really think someone looking for difficulty and complexity would be having this problem... I mean it just doesn't make sense to me that you would think that.

Heh same here. You probably got away better than me though. I made the awesome decision to get the collectors edition each time.
Diablo 3 provides a lot of depth in gameplay and little depth in character building / planning . I have to constantly utilize all 6 skills to optimize kill speed and survival.

On the other hand, PoE provides a lot of depth in character building / planning but a much simplified gameplay. On all 3 of my characters (a reaver, a summoner, and an LA ranger) I only use one to two skills actively. PoE gameplay is extremely boring for an ARPG, not to mention other gameplay affecting issues such as performance and desync.

could not agree more.one of the things i enjoyed about d3 was having a real need to constantly use all 6 skills more or less, which made the combat feel much more dynamic and satisfying.

poe while fun in its character building, poises us in a direction to build towards only one or two endgame skills per build ie AOE+single target.

look at all the builds that killed uber atziri so far.just stacking auras+1 movement skill+a continuous spam of the same attack skill ie ST.only variation is single or multiple targets.

would be more fun if we had a real actual need to use multiple combat skills for multiple situations.instead for the most part of the game all we do is spam AOE at the large packs of mobs.
