Played D3:RoS since release till now, heres the results!

Hello, i ve played D3 for 6 months before ROS (on d3 release) and played POE since closed beta.
Since ROS release one of my friend left Poe.

I d like to give a try to ROS,
but i m not sure if point that make me play hack and slash are in ROS,
so i m just looking for some objectives advices from people that played both games a lot :

First point :
After several rerolls on POE i came back to my original class style since years of gaming, summoner, i ve always been eager to play a complete, polish summoner with different possibilities of building it, poe did an aweseome job with that.

I was really disppointed by the fact there is no real summoner in D3 (i loved the WD but won t call it a summoner gameplay to my standard)

Is there any change about summoning with WD on D3 or is it always about having 4 dogs and a giant next to you while you do damage with bats or darts, and do nothing to actively support your minions?

Second point :
I m mostly into endgame content,
does D3 new system of map for Endgame is as varied in playstile than poe (i love the fact that map can have mods that makes you slightly change your character setup (mostly gem) before running the map, or sometimes makes you the nice surprise to rip.

Third point :
Uniques, i heard they made some uniques in ROS that are now really uniques, i mean you use them for a precise mod these uniques have, not just more dmg or vita, was that implemented masiveley in ROS or is it just a few item among pile of uniques?

Fourth point :
Last but not least, i really hate the fact that we all had to aime for Crit chance, crit multiplier and atack speed, is that fixed now?

Thanks a lot if u can answer me objectively to these point.

I've been playing D3:RoS for a bit. I'm enjoying it, and I think there remains a lot that PoE and D3 can learn from one another.

A few observations on areas that I think D3 does well (there are many areas PoE does better):
- D3 gameplay is fluid, dynamic and interesting. You can't facetank as easily as in PoE at the same relatively high levels. You need to keep moving to survive.
- D3 has far fewer one shot mechanics than PoE
- D3's new bind on account loot mechanism has put an enormous dent into the RMT scourge and also promoted friendly teaming between new players. I have lost count of the number of times people have shared good items during a map session (you can only trade an item with the people you were grouped with when you found the item, and even then for 2 hours of game time only)

RoS did not turn Diablo 3 into a real Diablo game like noob Gamespot stated.
I disagree with the 'RoS is not worth its money' part, I paid €25 for it and played it for around 50 hours and most of those hours were fun :) But yes, RoS didn't fix D3 at all.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
welcome back! o/

That was to be expected though since many features implemented with it were either already planned for release but pushed far back like the mystic or should have been in the game from the beginning.

And the worst part is they charged money for content that could have been in a later patch for free and made money off a real expansion with more than just a little content added to it.

Biggest turn offs for me to uninstall it were the lvl cap of 60 which was a joke, they should have went with median XLs lvl 120 and the fact that perma respecs made it pointless in making the same char multiple times not to mention its stupid to have a wizard use a slow as hell 2h axe just to get the most dps out of spells.

Finding upgrades is possible in POE unlike in D3 were with the AH you pretty much had to buy off the AH at some point and now its probably the other way around from what i have read. They should have kept the normal AH.
Like Mivo said "I felt ripped off by Blizzard" and to add more to me Ros should have been a patch to fix the mess they made in first place, not milking other 50$. When it's on 10 bucks I'm gonna buy it like the dlc it's, more than that it's not worth IMO.

Boring game is boring
< 404 paragon with god tier DH cluster

Unrewarding game is forever unrewarding aka get2 handed weapons all dayz

But I don't have the will to go back to PoE atm until next season, I will be attending the 2 week event though.

TLDR:

You're bitching about loot comparing to a game that is basically a giant slot machine.

This game sucks Diablo 3 ROS is way better. It's not even a good game but it's better than this.

and LOL You're comparing not getting upgrades in D3 to POE. Is that a joke?

If you want an upgrade in POE you BUY IT. Plain and simple. If you want an upgrade in D3 you play for a while and hope whatever drops is what your after.

I wouldn't necessarily call a game good because the competition (blizzard) decided to suddenly get a full frontal lobotomy and hire bottom of the barrel talent to infect a great franchise with their world of warcraft cancer.

As I said before, lvl 1-40 is semi enjoyable in POE. If you discount lack of optimisation and constant desync. Strongboxes were a really good idea as well.

After lvl 40, the game comes eerily close to shaving your nuts with a cheese-grater, game-flow wise. Which requires full on OCD/stick without carrot mode to get anywhere decent.
It's why this game is so popular in the BDSM scene, they're into some heavy self-flagellation.

And rebuilding the characters over and over again lost it's magic a while ago.
Vote +1 to change Path of Exile to Path of Nerfs.
We hate to say, but ProjectPT was right.
