In my experience I can somewhat agree with the OP, Mr. Neo. However, I have to say that your delivery and conveying of your thoughts needed some work.
Anyone who plays this game for any amount of time will experience this. You can call it elitism but its not. Its simple rude behavior on the part of certain players. It happens in life anytime you have a massive amount of people and it gets made much worse when you have an anonymous venue for the people to hide behind. Essentially, you lowball offered this guy who had these gloves and he didn't respond, just as if I offered you 50 exalts for one of your mirrors you would probably either not respond or send me a tell laughing at me. I have experienced this ALOT on much smaller things. The other night I was trying to buy some lvl 73-75 maps. I asked a guy what he wanted for his 74 maps, he asked what I was offereing. I told him if I had to make an offer that I would offer 3 chaos each. He never responded to me. I sent him a tell asking what he thought. He said, "Not enough, not interested." I then kind of snapped on him and told him that this was a bartering system and if he didnt like my offer then he should have at least responded and told me what he was wanting. He told me he wanted 4 chaos each. I paid 4 chaos each and then reminded him about how he almost missed out on a sale because rather then work w/ the customer he would rather just ignore my offers. I found this frustrating because IF you choose to sell items and post them on PoE.xyz and not list prices then you need to realize that people will want to barter with you on prices. I realize the seller will always want the most out of an item, and I also realize that a buyer will always want to pay the lowest prices possible. Sales happen when you the buyer and seller can meet in the middle so both are happy with the outcome. When a buyer is rude and doesnt even acknowledge your offer it can come off as very insulting, but the same happens when a buyer offers MUCH less than what an item is worth. This happens alot and I dont understand why. I sell stuff on PoE.xyz as well and its not like my shop is getting hit up all the time for me to be able to be picky about who I sell to. I almost always ask for an offer, but when they give me their offer and its low I'm always willing to work out a deal. Thats how bartering works. Even if the guy super low balls me on a price I will at least let him know the price I'm looking for in the off chance he may be willing to move up on his prices. " To be fair, you're not bartering, you're haggling. I think it's a cultural thing. Some cultures are good with haggling, even expecting it. Others expect a sticker price and to take it or leave it. No. Calm down. Learn to enjoy losing.

" So, mate, when the price manipulator buys out the item from other people to raise the price, mate, it is "the market" raising the price? So, mate, when the price manipulator play the "give me an offer I don't know what the items in my store are worth", he is not attempting to scam people, he is just trying to sell his items "for what they are worth"? So, mate, when the price manipulator plays the "I can't talk" game in order to intimidate people into offering high prices or scam nubes or just plan to be nasty, like you mate, he is just... while I got nothing. Just seems to be being a punk, like you mate. Last edited by Reynard_Jasper#7669 on Apr 28, 2014, 3:30:40 PM

" You seem to be confused. This post is about scammers that do neither. They refuse to have a sticker price and refuse to haggle either. You "displease" them and they don't answer. |

" Yeah, getting that. I was just pointing out that there is no bartering in PoE. We buy goods and services with fungible currency. No. Calm down. Learn to enjoy losing.

" bar·ter ˈbärtər/Submit verb gerund or present participle: bartering 1. exchange (goods or services) for other goods or services without using money. "he often bartered a meal for drawings" So when I offer currency in any form (chaos, exalted, alts, fuse, etc.) and I gain an item back that is not bartering? Yes it is bartering. That is EXACTLY what bartering is. I have currency in the form of crafting items, and he has an item I want. When we "haggle" over price than that is just a negative way of representing bartering. Since there is no "money" in this game every trade is based upon bartering. The currency we use is not "money" because the value of the currency fluctuates with the economy. Right now Chaos for example are worth less then lower forms of currency. This could change on any given day. hag·gle ˈhagəl/Submit verb 1. dispute or bargain persistently, especially over the cost of something. "the two sides are haggling over television rights" synonyms: barter, bargain, negotiate, dicker, quibble, wrangle; More noun noun: haggle; plural noun: haggles 1. a period of persistent bargaining. Haggling is just "persistant" bargaining (which is synonymous with bartering). Also, this is not about players that have a "sticker price" that say pay or leave. In my example, there was no sticker price. He had no price listed, yet still had them "for sale" on poe.xyz. I asked him what he wanted, he asked me for an offer. I gave an offer, in which he did not respond. He didnt have a buyout now price listed at 4 chaos each, he had nothing listed. When I offered 3 chaos he didnt respond and almost cost himself a sale. It was only by me pushing for a price from him that we were able to make a deal. Last edited by dogghaus#7443 on Apr 28, 2014, 4:15:59 PM

" Well, by your definition, the USD isn't money, because its value fluctuates with the US economy. But it is money. mon·ey :something generally accepted as a medium of exchange, a measure of value, or a means of payment: This game does have money. Some of the money has pegged value due to vendor recipes. Other money has floating value, dependent on the economy. There isn't a barter economy in PoE, though. No. Calm down. Learn to enjoy losing.

You have two mirrors. Mirror a dagger, but a crown of eyes and go kill her yourself. Swap to an RF guy for the second bosses. People do it in ambush.
