I understand now why multiboxing is "excepted"

Multi boxing is a exploit and should be treated so with account bans.

Here is your simple reason, 1 person with 4 accounts lvls chars to appropriate level,
3 of these accounts are useless fodder, However the 1 account your main is deals dps. This would mean you will receive the multi player difficulty/reward for not playing multiplayer.

I lost so much respect when blizzard said this kind of crap is ok due to the sales in games they receive.

I hope GGG decides this is bannable, It's absolute garbage exploit.

The question in why, If it is difficult and your guys are "scattered" try to justify it is a ok way to play, I think someone has a hidden agenda.

TLDR, Multi-boxing is exploit, GGG plz ban them, Multi boxers and hackers are pathetic.

If only one person is doing the harder content, isnt that the detriment? They are more likely to die because they are attempting multiplayer content with only one character doing anything?

It isn't an exploit unless GGG says it is, no matter how much you natter about it.

Its not really accepted its just not really easy to detect or prevent.

Anyone else scrool through here just to see how long it took for a grammar Nazi to pop up lol? I'm just picking with you Delmas; I saw this one too.

Well someone could either be a "grammar nazi" by correcting him once, or we could all let him go through life looking like a fool.

Are you going to be ok? Seems like a word being missspelled relly buthers you. I hopes you can deel wit it.

There was a Bullet to the Head commercial playing as I read that, so Stallone did voice over for it. It made me laugh.

Well I decided to go see what it was really about and try it at running multi PoE games. And after trying it I really don't see how it can be called a hack and I understand why it IS excepted in games.

I'm glad you enlightened yourself. If more people took the time to try things in-game instead of just regurgitating other people's opinions on things they don't understand and getting frustrated whenever they encounter contrary opinions, these forums would be a much nicer place.
ACCEPTED

sorry.

I think the easiest way to describe multiboxing (something I do and enjoy, although only with two accounts as anything more is crazy to control) is with a picture.
Some people seem to be under the impression multiboxers use something magical that automatically uses skills, drinks potions, moves out of danger and attacks for all the 'extra' characters. This is simply not true, we have to press every button and move each character to make things work. Sometimes this is achieved using software or hardware that 'broadcasts' one movement to all clients.

However the movement or key press still has to be done manually. Just like playing one charter at once except the interactions you have with the game just happen to line up across multiple characters (if you are lucky/good).

THIS. THIS IS GODSEND!!!

I don't understand that. If they're all synced and they're trying to move to the same spot, then they'll all follow the same path. The only time that might be a problem is if they're moving while there are multiple enemies on the field.

Have you even tried multi-clienting/boxing/whatever you want to call it? Its takes alot of effort to keep two active characters alive.

I guess its doable if you have one main active character and a bunch of low level toons that sit tightly at the entrance until everything is cleared, but I haven't tried that.

No, I haven't. But from your posts it doesn't seem like you have either.

I have done multibox when playing d2 before, and it's exactly not what you describe. There's many way to multibox, normal window's different user account can multibox (though it takes a very long time to switch), and there are also legit programs out there that can multibox (some work/job requires you to multibox).

Multibox just means opening two clients of PoE while only one person is playing. There's no way it will automatically give you character movement, or even click. What you were describing, just like that silly picture above, is not multibox, but called botting.

This isn't true. Running 6 clients and putting 5 characters + your active one in an instance generates better drops. People then take these drops and flood the economy.

Its still one main and 5 useless characters.

I think thats correct. I don't get the point at all.

Why is it a problem when someone gets a better reward intended for n players? Considering that he kills alone what is intened for 1+n people. I don't see the problem.

He will have a slower killspeed, he will die more often, it won't be fun in the end. If it's worth that effort for someone - I, personally, dont't care.

I'd prefer a '/players n' opportunity instead of making people create multiple, useless accounts.

It definitely affects the economy. If one person is generating extra/better loot that is designed to be distributed amongst 6 players then you have an inflation issue if a large number of people do it. Thankfully there isn't a lot of people doing it so the effect is negligible. If every 2nd player multiboxed we'd have a huge problem. If the main character is geared enough their clear speed wouldn't even be reduced much.
Playing Hardcore is like spending your life savings on a supercar and then driving it around uninsured just for the thrill of possibly crashing it.
