I understand now why multiboxing is "excepted"

The only multiboxing there is in PoE is one main character that kills everything and 5 useless characters that just stand there to increase the drops.

It's really hard to even have just two characters following each other because your characters can't overlap each other unlike some games (WoW for example).

This isn't true. Running 6 clients and putting 5 characters + your active one in an instance generates better drops. People then take these drops and flood the economy.

The economy in the game right now is horrific. This is why. I'm level 45 on my highest character and have about 10 characters. I have gotten 3 alch orbs throughout my entire gameplay experience. People want 1-2 alch orbs for gems that you can get from 10 minutes of time on a new char.

At end game I hear it is even worse. People wanting 10+ GCP or exalts for things.

That is the goofiest way to control multiple characters, lol :D

The only other picture I've seen had a bunch of towers hooked up to a "signal repeater" (I don't remember the technical term) that would just synchronize and send the key presses from the host to the other computers.

Why can't they overlap? There isn't any player character clipping as far as I know.

Also, people need to stop saying "multi-boxing" when they're talking about multi-client use. They aren't the same thing.

I like everyone, I just hate muti-boxing because it'ss an unethical way to play a game.

It really isn't.

It is unethical. They are exploiting a game-mechanic for increased personal gain. The game mechanic is improved loot for groups. It is meant to reward people who play together. There is no developer intention to provide improved loot for an individual, otherwise they would just have loot be equal between solo and grouped content.

Multi-client use is difficult to stop and that happens to be the only reason they don't crack down.

Its not because of the clipping but because the path finding makes it hard to sync all characters to be at the same spot at the same moment.

Its still one main and 5 useless characters.

I don't understand that. If they're all synced and they're trying to move to the same spot, then they'll all follow the same path. The only time that might be a problem is if they're moving while there are multiple enemies on the field.
lol how can you say "It's not unethical"
it is unethical. its not intended for you to play with multiple instances.
i mean just play it normally you little rats, its a fun game how it is.
jeez. i mean i have 2 accounts and 2 computers but thats just so friends can
come over and play, not so i can generate 5 times more loot and take it all for myself...
its a loophole, and you shouldnt take advantage of it like that.
you are creating the first step towards "more items for me" addiction...

...which leads to bot creation
Why not just implement a "/players 6" type command like Diablo 2 has? Give people the option for tougher monsters but better loot without jumping through the multiboxing hoops. Then again, this has probably been suggested countless times.

i like this. at least this would be legit, and probably more balanced than having more personal instances.

Have you even tried multi-clienting/boxing/whatever you want to call it? Its takes alot of effort to keep two active characters alive.

I guess its doable if you have one main active character and a bunch of low level toons that sit tightly at the entrance until everything is cleared, but I haven't tried that.
