So if I am ranged and you are melee and the boss dies and you are closer to the loot, how is that having the same chance?

IF YOU ARE RANGED, AND THE BOSS drops a RARe/unique, you have just as any chance as any other member sitting right next to the boss. It will range/scale up to your location.

Also, if it's a huge boss and you know it's going to drop good loot why the hell are you going to be miles away from it? scared to die?

Sounds like you're a big baby.

Sticks and Stones...your rebuttal of name calling just fortifies the point.

Calling you a big baby is name calling?

You know - it kinda bothers me that anyone from GGG would post there, and not here, in relation to this overly exploded issue.

But w/e.

Seriously, this.

Why the flying fuck is GGG posting things on that shithole instead of their own official forums?

lol @ #FirstWorldProblems - look up rebuttal in the dictionary (not the urban one).

But the public games are devoid of trust and kinship and cordial rules most of the time and it can be a terrible experience, for sure. What's the solution? Put up with it when you need to, find the gentlemen in those parties and add them to your friends list. Eventually you'll have dozens of decent, trustworthy people to choose from when you need help with a quest or want to party up and grind maps. And when you have maps, suddenly everyone is your trustworthy best friend.

Quite right, I totally agree.

I'm going to partially translate the above.

Public games suck. What to do? Play in those sucky games looking for players who aren't dicks and then manually track those names. Eventually, your list will be long, and you can check to see which non-dicks you've identified as being online. Then, you can use GGG's party system and utterly work around their loot tension notions.

In a very grind heavy game the death penalty equates to...more grinding.
Right now all I am seeing is a war between 2 groups. One that wants FFA and the other that doesn't.

People on the FFA side feel as strong as people on the other side. Though when people from the FFA feel threatened, they turn to insults instead of backing up there argument or offering a proper rebuttal.

It makes it sounds like they are worried they will loose the FFA. Again what is the harm of offering loot rules before you join a party or limit FFA in HC?

Instead of coming up for reasons why, it normally just ends in insults or leave it as it is.

Kinda funny.

If they do implement an instanced loot option, it should also come with a drop rate penalty.

If you take the easy road, you shouldn't have the same reward.

How did you become a moderator, I really don't know. I'm amazed by how ignorant is every single one of your posts!

What you are saying is, in a party with 2 people, the one that does the killing and doesn't pick up staff is taking the easy road, while the other one that doesn't touch a single mob but only click shiny things on the ground is taking the hard road. RIGHT!

You sir are brilliant! If your job as a moderator has left you some spare time I would LOVE to hire you in my company. We are trying to prove that Homo gautengensis still exists

?

He's saying low risk* should have low reward. What makes that unreasonable?

* Risk of losing items.

I see BurnOutBrighter point in a way, but there is a difference between easy road and a fair road though.
