You know - it kinda bothers me that anyone from GGG would post there, and not here, in relation to this overly exploded issue.

But w/e.

The reddit group was created by GGG as well, just like their twitter, so it's a good place to find devs responses too.

Sure, but this is the official POE site. Why not here?
GGG - Why you no?

While I support their choice with loot.

The consequences of that are that I flat out refuse to group. The worst aspect of any multiplayer game is always other players, and allowing other players to "steal" from one another just isn't an experience I feel like participating within.

I'm still going to play, and show off my Kiwi and cosmetics in town, probably for quiet awhile.

But I will NEVER group with random people as long as FFA loot is a part of the game, its just not worth it.

This. I will flat out never do public games for any reason other than PvP, there's no incentive.

My guild finds it annoying when mobs die offscreen, and the loot is sitting there with no name on it.

make the timer fall off, and leave the name. easy fix to implement.

<3 GGG.

<3 GGG.

My suggested fix.

Pure FFA loot in hardcore (Timer already slow down the game far too much)

Pure Personal loots in Normal

PS I play hardcore.
The game does not adapt to you, you adapt to it.

Ultimately, we believe that having an FFA-based system is good for the general health of the game. When you play in a group with completely player-bound, invisible-to-others loot like Diablo 3 or Torchlight 2, you really get the feeling that you're playing in a bubble. The other players with you might as well be bots, and there is little shared or vicarious joy in lucky stuff that drops. That's something we're definitely trying to avoid.

I agree with a lot of the ideas that Chris and GGG have espoused. The above quote in bold is not one of these ideas. I have played publicly in POE and socializing is always stunted and FFA loot doesn't change this. Forcing people to squabble over loot isn't going to change it.

Loot methods should be a choice.

I am fine with the "choice" but I agree with what they are saying.

When something good dropped in d3 nobody except the person knew about it except who got it unless they said something. It did feel like you were in your own bubble, and it sucked...

I'd prefer pure ffa loot as it makes the game way way more exciting imo, but an option would not bother me I suppose.

agree with everything he says

the diablo 3 loot system is just terrible it does feel like you're playing with bots its so boring and mind numbing

we all moved over to this game to escape that
I don't see why they can't just make all loot visible (as is current).

But make certain items (the same ones with a timer currently) only loot-able by the person who's it was.

If they want to give it to another person in the group, they need only drop it or trade it. This prevents "theft" of loot, but still allows everyone to SEE the loot, avoiding the D3 "Bubble" issue.

Because the PoE Reddit is extremely popular.

What's the big deal with posting on Reddit anyway?

None. But the question wasnt answered.

Edit.

I guess I should at least say, I personally dont care whats on Reddit, or any other site similiar in nature, because when I want to know about POE, I come here, to the official site.

To me, this just seems like the kind of thing that should be posted officially here.

Maybe im alone in this thought, maybe im not.

My thoughts.
GGG - Why you no?
