Why not add it in as an option when you create your public game.

FFA no timer
FFA no timer whites/blues, 3 second rares, 5 second uniques/currency
FFA 2 second time whites/blues, 5 second timer rares, 8 second timer uniques/currency
FFA 5 second timer whites/blues, 8 second timer rares, 15 second timer uniques/currency
FFA 8 second all
FFA 15 second all
Personal loot

Then if you dont like the loot rules you dont join the game. Simple

Everyone is happy

If they did something like this I believe they should add drop percentage penalities period.

So you do personal loot drop rates should drop by 75% enjoy grinding forever :)

This I actually would agree to (I'm a FFA player and will only be a FFA player).

If people are avoiding public play because FFA loot means they get less loot in parties than soloing, how would this change their minds? They'd still get less and still solo. Nothing would change.
Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.

Hey I agree....I personally hated when Blizzard water-downed WOW to people who complained about it being to hard. I used to Tank vanilla and player all the way to Wrath and it was just watered down...and I quit playing cause it got too easy.

I'm not asking that GGG to do that...but when I see threads on people bragging about how they ninja'd this and that and how they screwed people over, and others are feeding it with there own stories. Then some type of minor concession like this is not a big deal...in the end whatever GGG wants to do is fine with me...I love this game.

But from my experience, not everyone can be plugged in as much as others and this alternative is better then a nerf to accommodate that.

Though ya FFA does give you that sense that not everyone is good and your an exile for a reason...if a medium can be found though it would cater to everyone, because the danger is that the game will be left with just elitist jerks that have macros on there keyboard set up just to ninja loot, alienating others and may cause the player rate not to increase, which means less money being spent in micro transactions and so on and so forth.

In the end it is all about what GGG wants to do...I'm happy either way since I have the time to play this FT since my GF and I are both hardcore gamers.

Why? To deter people from those options? Pretty pointless.

Good.

Most of what I've read about all the QQ about FFA loot generally comes from the ranged glass cannons. I look at it this way so does my friend who plays a glass cannon ranger somewhat. If you are not on the frontline your not taking as much risk. So the tank builds take more risk. I always jump in and pull aggro and tend to keep it while my friend burn stuff down. So I take more risk by possibly dieing, but tend to walk away with more loot.

In the end yes if they put in different loot rules those people should have to play by different rules also. Loot drop penalities. Why should you get the same reward for much less risk to your item being taken?

Exactly why.

If people with entitlement issues want to have instanced loot they should in no way, shape or form benefit from party rewards.

Simple as that really.

It appears allot of people on the forums have allot of support for FFA so how do you feel it is going to be an issue....unless your worried that your the minority and not the majority...or you will loose your outlet on easy loot by screwing others over?

So sick of this mentality...if an item drops you have the same chance of grabbing it as everyone else in the party. No one is "ninjaing" or "screwing" you if you suck at clicking on an item that is held for you for a period of time based on your distance from the item. Pay attention and be ready to grab that precious item when it drops. Stop being derps and expecting free loot.

Todays gamers are so entitled its disgusting.
The item is yours when it is in your bag.

If we had a thanks button...

Thanks :D

epic post

GGG don't listen to these qq nabs that have slow 50yr old reaction skills and want the game to be like d3,etc,crap games.

GGG the best thing you're doing now is following your heart and you guys know what is best, look HOW DAM FAR you have came now? don't ruin it by these qqing kids that cant pick up their loot. Don't ruin it for the rest of us, please..... REAL ARPG FANS (POE Designed for) know that this loot system is the funnest/coolest/most rewarding part of farming/leveling, keep it this way.

The amount of fun you have with the current loot system, gives you a euphoria feeling and makes time fly so fast because of how much fun you're having, and keeps you at the edge of your seat :)

If the system was removed, leveling/farming with parties would be boring as shit. (Sorry for swearing, but it's true)

So if I am ranged and you are melee and the boss dies and you are closer to the loot, how is that having the same chance? Even with a timer some classes have an advantage to get to the loot before someone else...that is not a fair playing field.

More and more I read this, the more I realize that people pro-FFA know they have an advantage over others then loot, which is why they do not want to see FFA loot. Cause they have to rely on the random drops and trading over how much faster they can get there over someone else.
If you think I care what you think, you need more of a life than I do.

IF YOU ARE RANGED, AND THE BOSS drops a RARe/unique, you have just as any chance as any other member sitting right next to the boss. It will range/scale up to your location.

Also, if it's a huge boss and you know it's going to drop good loot why the hell are you going to be miles away from it? scared to die?

Sounds like you're a big baby.

Edit: Not to be rude, but this is the shit GGG prob has to deal with every day...
