Brian's Feedback to Looting (quote from reddit)
" Not problem solved. Players who play in default can also like FFA loot. Julius's path of exile wine bundle for mac here: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/48708/page/1

I join both groups.
Again you need to think. |

Actually someone earlier in this thread said put in the option of instanced looting but with a penalty.
This I actually would agree to (I'm a FFA player and will only be a FFA player). Hell make the drop rate for them like 50% to 75% less. They will get tired of grinding 3x the time to get the same gear we get and you will see them back :). I've had a orange stole and quite a few orbs and yellows. Not a big deal lol it does not bother me because I know that is the rules of the game :). My buddy and I pub all the time and we usually just laugh on mumble when someone scrambles to "steal my drop" make jokes about it. But we are in our 30's I generally find it's Generation Entitlement that gets angry. World's not a fair place and most video games are not either ;) Phenom 2 955 Quad Oc'ed 4.2 Ghz - Biostar A780L3G 760G

My Feedback: Leave the looting alone - fine the way it is!

" As I said before I feel that the perfect medium would be reserved just for HC, not to scrap it. So please do not choose to read and understand what you wish to make your argument. ZING :/ The game with FFA loot is cool because we are all exiles and it fit the game well with the Aura. I see that side of the coin, and why people want to keep it. Others just want to group with people for a chance at loot, they do not wanna waste time just to have there loot ninja'd by a more experienced person, or they are new to the game and just getting started. Some people don't have the time to play as much as another person, so they want manage there time and maximize the experience. So what is the issue if FFA stays for HC and another loot option for Default? Allot of people play HC, so I don't see it being an issue. Wouldn't this solve the issue? Or is it FFA or nothing in all game modes? I mean HC vs Default have different options in game play, why not show that consideration also in loot? If you think I care what you think, you need more of a life than I do.

After you put some serious time in with the current system, you realize it's a nonissue. People will ninja you, and you will ninja others. Groups fall into grooves that range from completely cutthroat to no ninja at all. It's interesting to see the dynamic change as new players join and leave groups.
If you don't like the loot system, play with friends or play solo. This is coming from someone who initially really disliked the system, check my forum posts. I've completely changed my stance on it after playing with it a lot more. PLEASE GGG, DON'T GIVE INTO THE WHINING. KEEP THIS GAME DIFFERENT AND INTERESTING. I suggested the same things.
But people are like "we should get treated equally" |

" Exactly! I find this and it's actually kind of cool changes up the "gameplay mode" as others come and go. As I said in a previous post my buddy and I laugh and enjoy it. I get ninja'ed and I end up ninjaing back. Not a big deal in the end it all works itself out. If your a glass cannon and you miss most of your drops, your still getting something. Much less risk to losing your xp. While I'm in the moshpit breaking faces and pulling all the aggro I see it as I get the reward of more drops most of the time but higher risk to keep losing my xp (but my character is built pretty solid so I can live through just about anything :). I simply love the system. I wanted to speak up because it's really pathetic how many people cry over this system and GGG really needs to stand their ground on this subject.
Try to get this through your heads. It's not 'YOUR' loot. You have priority of the loot for a short period of time. No one steals anything from you. The thrill you got in diablo 2 when something good dropped can't be described. The rush when multiple people tries to get the same item. This is PoE, it's not Helly Kitty island adventure. Grow up, man up. Ingame @Hammarturken

Why not add it in as an option when you create your public game.
FFA no timer FFA no timer whites/blues, 3 second rares, 5 second uniques/currency FFA 2 second time whites/blues, 5 second timer rares, 8 second timer uniques/currency FFA 5 second timer whites/blues, 8 second timer rares, 15 second timer uniques/currency FFA 8 second all FFA 15 second all Personal loot Then if you dont like the loot rules you dont join the game. Simple Everyone is happy Personally i like how it is now though. If i know you, i will be nice If i don't know you and you fail to get your item in time then i have no problem at all snapping it up for myself. Call me a theif whatever you want, i dont consider it stealing at all. It's a game, get over it. It'll happen to me too. This being said i am ethical about agreements. Should it be previously agreed and adhered to then i will also do so. Same goes for cheating such as trade conning. Agreements are agreements. But i will adhere to the rules of the game otherwise. Its just the way it is. Last edited by DexDeus#3176 on Feb 3, 2013, 11:51:38 AM
