Brian's Feedback to Looting (quote from reddit)

GGG has a point, it amazes me how they think deep while a lot of us (me include) just scream THATS MAH LOOT!!11
To each his own. No stealing no timer no delay. Items can become neutral after a long time, say 10 minutes.

Maybe it's ok to hate people, sometimes, but I definately don't want to hate my partners.

My friend paid my way since I'm on a fixed income. But yeah shed tears.
Make excuses all you want. Cheap = Cheap

Months of entertainment. Not once did you ever feel like you wanted to help this company. Unless by help you mean forum posts.
If you have a good party in PoE it's far better from being instanced looting in D3, I'll say that.

Think of it like this:
You're teaming up with some trusted mates, and a rare bow drops. Your friend picks it up. "Is that bow any good?" He links it. "Dude, do you mind if I get that? that's a big upgrade from what I have." "Sure." He gives you the bow and you do him a solid later on. That's how the game is meant to be played.

But the public games are devoid of trust and kinship and cordial rules most of the time and it can be a terrible experience, for sure. What's the solution? Put up with it when you need to, find the gentlemen in those parties and add them to your friends list. Eventually you'll have dozens of decent, trustworthy people to choose from when you need help with a quest or want to party up and grind maps. And when you have maps, suddenly everyone is your trustworthy best friend.

Well generally I find the ones who say they are glad they did not put any money into game because said feature was not what they wanted. They are usually full of it and never put any money in anyway.

That or for whatever reason they think a game will bend to the will of one just to get that $5.

As for income wise 3 kids here, lost my good job a few years ago and borderline minimum wage (detroit lol). I still managed to get in on a gold package because I spend my money wisely and know how to save even when I'm dirt broke :).

Fact equals fact not excuse. At one point I did want to contribute money, but fortunately had some financial issues that rendered it very inconvenient to do any online transactions. I did post constructively on a number of issues in the past, and I did report problems I encountered as any decent beta tester should. So no, I don't feel any guilt whatsoever if that is what you are trying to imply.

Hell I don't know why I'm bothering to post this - good bye and have a nice life.

If they do implement an instanced loot option, it should also come with a drop rate penalty.

If you take the easy road, you shouldn't have the same reward.

I would have thought the important thing here is to encourage public multiplayer. Otherwise you make the exact same mistake a certain other ARPG beginning with 'D' made. If partying up is not worth it, people will solo. A it could be argued that this has killed off, or at least contributred to the death of, that certain other ARPG. I read another opinion that people who solo buy less micro-bling as there is no one to show off to. Seems logical. Games with strong multiplayer communities do better.

If FFA loot is discouraging multiplayer because you get less loot than if you solo, then a drop penalty for grouping with personal loot isn't going to help one bit is it? It simply creates exactly the same deterrent to grouping, in a differnt way.

I am also puzzled why you would consider instanced loot "easy". It is simply "different" or perhaps "fairer". "Easy" is playing FFA loot with Leap Slam and jumping about grabbing everything worthwhile.
Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.
