The community is horrible

The last community I encountered that was this bad was Vanguard. Same extreme fanatacism on masochistic issues.

Just like it is a mistake for a dev to coddle the casuals, it is just as much a mistake to coddle masochistic features that only benefit griefers.

Far from the worst community I have met. Try League of Legends for a few weeks and return here for therapy holidays.

Yeah, guys are pretty hostile if you suggest anything that makes the game easier but let's face it: Path of Exile is not a main stream product. It is for niche audience and when making suggestions that lean towards modern day game design you may end up being burnt. So, think twice before making suggestions and cast the protection from fire before that.

Welcome to a free to play game. It brings the worst people on board. League of Legends is still worse.

I really think that making a negative post whining about how bad the community is is a great way to make the community better. Good thinking.

In all seriousness, there are certain issues that we've all seen brought up a billion times, and it gets to us. I don't think I've ever said "Go back to D3" as an insult, but if someone suggests instanced loot or an RMAH, I will definitely say "This might not be the game for you", for instance.

I think it's because most of the suggestions made are basicly game suggestions that would make the game more and more like D3. That's exactly what most people do not want. We already have a D3.

Yeah they could be nicer about it. But There are plenty of people who share these "ideas" with the communnity and then bash the ones who love the game to death when no one has said a word to them.

Some of you seem to forget this is a two way street and people love to turn a blind eye to one side of it. Just because you may have not I can point you to a million threads where people did. Sorry guys like you if you are not a jerk just get caught in the crossfire.

I mean I'll be honest this is the 2nd game I will ever call myself a "Fanboy" of. I pray that they do not make a ton of "Casual" type changes to it. Because we have enough casual type games on the market today as it is. (also when I refer to hardcore I do not mean people who play 8+ hours a day I refer to hardcore as people who are just hardcore players know how to game and don't mind steep learning curves, very deep system that are not "new" gamer friendly).

This community is one of the best and more mature ones I've come across. Quite pleasant discussions. The few blind fanbois and haters are few in number and simply ignored.

Never saw anything related like that supporters think they are better then those just joining since the OB, but then again I'm not following the forums 24 hours a day. But most criticism I see comes with trash talk and not backing up any arguments why X really sucks. It's much worse in the Diablo 3 community you can't talk about any other game even when not bashing Diablo 3 itself and you still have monkeys flaming you and telling others not too play game X since only their opinion matters it seems.

But if we talk about bad community's imo LoL is the worse I have seen. Tournaments are great and such, but on the forums and any normal PvP its 95% immature flaming.

+1 so true, also what is up with the mods? the most unfriendly people I have ever met, and also power hungry as they lock almost any thread that doesn't follow the hive, this thread most likely will be locked soon.

Basically this. You are going to find undesirable interactions with people anywhere you look. Be it walking out your front door or roaming the interwebs. Don't take it to heart and don't take it personal. The feeling of anonymity can often bring out the worst in people. That being said... I have yet to run into any souring behavior really in game from people that I have partied up with. There has been some trolls in chat but that is to be expected. The party play, after you come to terms with the loot system, is very fun!
