The community is horrible

I help almost everyone I can in-game..

Some of you know my main char as Venom..

I do my best to make it more enjoyable.. I also Report any bs that does not belong in chat..
I'm sorry your having a bad time...

But I know a few people out there do try and help..
I personally enjoy helping new players learn the game.. Heck I've died quite a few times responding to peoples questions just to help them out..

If there is a Hell! I'll see you there!
there are always bad apples in every gaming community.

but some people here are indeed making this game more like some kinda of cult.. lol... personally i learn to adapt if things are different than what i'm used to. if there's really something worth criticizing, i don't do it until I have a solid and constructive idea or solution.

but that being said, I started playing this game on the first day of OB, i luckily got a unique the second day, so I decided to share my excitement in global chat and said "my first leg! :D", i immediately got a welcoming response "LOL D3 trash!"... haha

Maybe people will stop saying "go back to D3" if too much people leave the game...

There's also understated wisdom in this quote.

Overly zealous and exclusive communities should be careful to not alienate so much of their player influx that they're left with a game which cannot sustain itself from a social and economic perspective.

For a recent example of exactly how this can turn out, see GW2's spvp scene.

ROFL XD
In other games - you get a cookie whether you win or lose. PoE not only takes your cookie and eats it in front of you, it slaps you upside the head a few times for bringing a cookie in the first place.
This is why you hide general chat (open the chat window and check the box) and unhide trade chat. People in trade chat do not like mindless blabber in the channel. And nothing of use is ever said in General.

I understand if you're new and want to ask questions, but it's best to go to the class forums here and ask - they will give you much better advice and be mostly helpful whereas general chat is full of children (like in every game).

Was pretty good during CB, bad right now with all the new players. wait a while they will give up and move on soon
The community is what makes service possible, NEVER say it's the worst part about the game because it's what gets and keeps a game going.

So far, the worst thing about this great game is the community. Seems like some people have an almost religious-like zeal for this game. The same thing happened in the Runic forums (developers of Torchlight), where if you criticize the game in any way or suggest any idea, you get bombarded with messages from self-righteous, arrogant people who think they know what GGG are thinking and planing. The only feedback that seems to be accepted by the community is "OMG best game evarrrrrrrr!!111" and even the mildest forms of criticism are vigorously assaulted, telling the person who made the criticism to "go back to D3" is very common, like that's a big insult...
If you guys think anything good can come out of endless admiration and a vacuum of criticism, then I've got bad news for you.

Take this post, change the name of the game and companies and you can post it in every game forum ever. I don't know why, it's just like that.
The worst thing about any online game will ALWAYS be the community...
Because the people playng and the rules they make up about what is right and wrong in the context of the game will differ greatly, and cannot be nerfed or balanced (although it should at times).

The game itsself follow the rules its told to follow.

What you describe can be said about any community and the statment is fairly hollow if you ask me.

To be perfectly honet, i think this community is stellar in comparison with simmilar games.

- I see positive threads pop up regularly.
- There are tons of knowlegable people helping out in the other threads (unless you are just a general stalker).
- We have lots of diffrent supporters of the game, actually benefitting the game directly.
- The devs are plenty active! (just look at their profiles)
- The game itsself stems in competetiveness whithin the community. Which is a dying breed in the gaming theese days. Believe it or not, but being competetive is healthy for you, albeit it might be unusual for some.
