Invasion players - no need to bash Standard Players

Everybody dies at some point in invasion. Everyone. It's only a question of how long you last before it happens. People with those pesky things called real jobs don't have the time to play 16 hours a day. Then you got players like Terrex who played standard but climbed the shit out of the invasion ladder before he ripped at #2.

Some people play games to have fun and to challenge themselves, not because they worry that a bunch of adolescent teenagers think they are "hardcore."

Getting to a high position in a new league is not hard, don't even kid yourself.

And I also doubt that he quit invasion because he found standard to be so much more fun

Not even hard, eh? You are some scrub then, considering that character was 9 levels higher than any you got in Invasion, and 4 higher than any you got in an HC league. You should probably be playing in standard.

why would they? why can't you answer that? Why would a hardcore gamer, extremely skilled at games, that makes every other hardcore player look like a joke, play the easiest mode possible of a hardcore ARPG?

people who play games at that level are not going to play the easy mode, you just don't understand that because you're a standardcore hero.

Because it might stress them.

Because they do not like to lose things.

Because they want to be a glass cannon for a change.

Because they have a bad rig and internet connection and do not want to die to desync or disconnects.

Because they have unskilled friends that rather play softcore.

Because they want to play effieicently to make as much currency as they can, which is faster in softcore.

Because they like to drink beer while playing and they die drunk.

Need more?

P.S.: I have played actual hardcore games, where you actually lose a char when you die. With all he owns. Where you do not takes 3 days to level back up, but half a year. I have lost characters that I spent almost a year raising by accidentally drowning myself in a virtual river.
You don't know me...
we were hypothetically talking about a person that is better than every top player in hardcore league and has extremely good reflexes, I assume we still are. None of those issues would affect them, except maybe having unskilled friends in standard, I definitely believe that.

Actually I died over a week ago to a oneshot from an offscreen boss, I guarantee you that if I didn't I'd probably be in the top 50 or top 10 by now.

I guess the difference between me and that other guy you mentioned is that I didn't give up and stop playing Invasion and make up some bullshit excuse like "it's boring"

So if you have good reflexes you can't be stressed out? And you cannot have a bad internet connection? And you have to like to lose things? And you couldn't possibly like to play an untanky build?

Now that is an interesting causality right there. I was not aware of that. Thanks :)

P.S.: You probably cannot drink too much beer and still have good reflexes. I give you that one :P

If games stress you out, you cannot have good reflexes in them, it would affect you too much to play them. And, hypothetically, someone this good at video games I'd hope would have a good internet connection.

Shit, I've got awful DSL 768k internet and I still play this game fine.
GUYS GUYS GUYS BRELM IS A TROLL.

So the internet thing is still an option, yeah?

So are the friends?

And the glass cannon thing?

And the efficiency thing?*

I see plenty of reasons here how the "best player in the world" might be stuck in softcore for one or the other reason. I believe that concludes today's episode of Burgi proves you wrong.

Have a good day everyone ;)

*This is by far the most important one to me btw, but that needs an extra discussion. I personally believe skill is causally linked to intelligence and intelligent people usually play efficiently. Wich is directly correlating to the accumulation of wealth.
That is easier in softcore leagues thus they might stay there if they have no daddy issues that lead them to believe they have to prove something.

As a 90% hardcore player myself I would say that people just like to feel better then others.

Also at the same time as scrubcore hardcore players are bashed just as much(if not more quite frankly) about "alt f4 league" "path of life nodes" when in reality hardcore and soft core are both very much part of the game and at the end of the day that is what it is.. a game so if you are having fun in whatever league you play that is all that matters.
IGN: Bleric

8/8 Challenges Nemesis.
Be an adult and stop caring what people from alt+f4 league think.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
I should add that I very much agree with Bleric. This respect goes both ways.

I do have a lot of respect for the ones enduring hardcore. For those that know how to behave like grown ups.

So my statements are addressed at persons like Brelm, not at those of you just enjoying this play mode because it is a thrill (or whatever else makes you play it)
