D3 and PoE

Yeah real cash AH killed what could have been a great game for me. To be able to buy power is annoying enough, but when you think about it, who is going to trade any great item with you, or sell it for game gold when they could have real money instead?

Maybe if they had a no cash shop league I'd reconsider, but leagues were PoE's great idea, so neener neener.
im so tired of seeing these threads, i will just play both! and all this craps about AH, DONT USE IT IF YOU DONT LIKE IT!!!!, it will not affect anyone that will not use it, they are thousands of ppl that dont use plastic money and they will use the in game gold.

so to all of those that have waited for years D3 and now they will not try it cause of the AH... grow up guys!

Ill be playing both cause they are that different, i like both aspects of both games.
I've been wathing gameplay of Poe on youtube last 2 weeks and I don't know is it me or is Poe looking so much better than d3?

i think they will be different.
sure its the same genre and all....

honestly from what ive seen diablo 3 is looking better.
surely i admire PoE graphic style even tho d3 looks ok, but gameplay-wise d3 is just looking much better.
having so many years of development experience surely helps to finally bring some balanced gameplay... PoE unfortunatelly is a noob.. and that might be its downfall.
but its just speculation. realistically you can decide whether game fails or not about 2-3 months after game is released.
knowing recent mmos - some games close after 2 months lol.
others live half a year before turning into f2p.
PoE will be for those that dont liek change, D3 for those that do like change. Thats pretty much it - I might try out D3 but idk yet
I'm honestly shocked by these alleged D2 veterans pretending like the D3 RMAH is something new...

If you played D2 any serious amount, you knew that people were buying / selling items using real money on third party sites all the time.

All blizzard did was take that, and make it so that you can't get scammed and ripped off as easily through it.

A company that gives its customers a service that they are going to use anyway, but in a safer manner that generates profit for them from its use... How dare they?

I personally don't have any intention of using the RMAH, but it always existed in the form of 3rd party sites for D2, it isn't new, guys.

Ah, well, I've come to believe that many people are so used to being handed comfortable lies and distractions that honesty is upsetting to them.

Maybe that's it.

Aside from the people who won't use RMAH out of principle, and there will be quite a few of those, I'm sure RMAH users will sell items in the gold AH as well because you can sell gold in the RMAH, and it might be easier to sell gold for money than a specific item.
I'm a beta tester for both Path of Exile and Diablo 3.

Objectively Diablo 3 is leagues ahead of Diablo 3 is every possible category.

Let's look at Path of Exile first:

- Good graphics, they look nice but that's it. They're no blending, there's no theme, they just look nice. You can't say a game looks better because of the graphics, if you do you deserve to not rate any game because the way it looks means themes, locale, and design.

- Combat is meh. The combat isn't fluid, and the skills are really basic with no added flare. Combat seems pretty basic where it's hit and run or spam 1 skill essentially.

- Classes are essentially useless. May as well let you choose your gender, age, height, etc because the skill system is opposite of your class design.

- Different modes. Love it. Great idea. Normal, ladder, and hardcore were the norm.. Thank God someone decided to spice it up a bit.

- Over all. It's a game that would be more suitable for the 2005 era. Things have changed. No real mechanics progression in Path of Exile. Feels like they're banking on nostalgia.

- Lore. Couldn't find much of lore.

Diablo 3:

- Graphics. Good to great. They flow well. The areas are nicely designed. The 2d art rendering is spot on and gives a nice painted look. I don't like how characters seem to float on the background though. Should have been blended in better. Levels are nicely designed with great feel, look, themes, and design.

- Combat is fluid, it's responsive, it's unique for each class. Animations are superb for the palette they're using. Great character and monster animations. Game really shines in that area.

- Classes feel different. The two caster classes play totally different and feel totally different. The Monk and Barbarian are you classic quick and hard hitting classes. They feel right and opposite of each other.

- Don't like the idea of Inferno myself but at least they tried something new. Still would like to see more modes.

- Lore. There's gonna be story.

- Diablo has improved mechanics like different resource systems, destructible environments, better quest giving and cut scenes, better boss fights that feel like boss fights, possibly boss fights.

Out of both? Diablo 3 is easily the superior product. There's no question about it. Path of Exile just seems to be stuck in the past.
