Enough players do use steam for the graph to be representative of the trend. You guys are saying that polls are not representative, unless they are done across the whole population.

People are just too stupid to understand. When they perform test election polls, they interview about 1000 people and they are usually pretty accurate.

I don't use steam

Majority of people are here for the 4 month leagues, Of course the population will slowly decline after the 1st month of release, people stick around wile everything is still cutting edge...

I'm sure it will be over 20k again for a week or two after tomorrows patch, the real indicator of how successful the patch will be is how many people it retains after the 2 month mark in comparison to the last round of 4 month leagues which seemed to hover around 10k, based on steam alone.

Just for example - all my friends and guys from guild and even random guys from friend list is offline for a looong time :D Some of them read patch notes and said this game is shit.

I talk about anticipated not necessarily good.

TES is a name. It will be an even bigger failure than Star Wars.
One thing which might work for TES would be 6-8 players TCP/Hamachi parties but not MMO.
It's a dying genre anyway.


RoS will attract many casual players because the PS3 Version had far better drops and Blizzard was like "WTF why are PS3 players playing but PC players are not?!"


For example no matter what the next league(outside of Diablo clone and Anarchy V2 there isn't much GGG can still rip off from D2 unless they start other MMO shit) or Season 9-10 will be. You can be certain I will be playing Witcher 3.


It has a great story, excellent gameplay and looks beautiful.(and if it's indeed bigger than TES Skyrim you can be certain that the short gameplay won't be an issue anymore)
It's my most anticipated game 2014 possible multiplayer and a modding Toolset and you can be certain you have another long living game.

I bet a proper Self Found League would bring tons of people back. My friends list is full and 99% offline. That may change tomorrow though.
