Number of players decreasing
" Ohh thank god, who knew people of the forum have such a low attention span, i should have posted this instead of explaining it in a long winded way. And this is what i want to improve, the drop once the leagues have "matured". This is the problem state. |

What do you expect to happen? New content comes out, loads of people come to play it, content gets boring and repetitive, people leave for a while, repeat. It's always going to happen, you can't expect the population to stay the same or grow during a time where no exciting content is being released.

" The statistics started on October 23 when PoE 1.0 was released and the leagues started. Since the game was then new to a lot of people (first time on Steam, which is by far the biggest PC gaming platform), it's not relevant that the league started as many people didn't even know what leagues are (Domination was the default choice). There is a sharp decline right in the first month, and those are people who tried the game and didn't like it. That part is normal for any F2P. The continued decline, though, and it's a very steady one, implies that the game failed to retain a significant portion of players for some reason. For GGG, it's worthwhile to explore these reasons. For us, it's pointless because all we can do is talk anyway. But none of this should be a surprise. The game is niche, and crafting and trading aren't particularly friendly or inviting to people who play games for fun only. There aren't even proper trading tools in the game. | |

" Apologies mate. One tires of discussing the same topic again and again. PoE has a system in place to deal with the population drop. It's the league system. I don't think they view the drop off as a problem when they can pull almost everyone back every four months. I'll have more friends online tomorrow than ever before for the new leagues. It doesn't have to be something difficult to understand. It really doesn't. |

I'm a steam user BUT I don't have PoE on Steam.
anyways... People can have a lot of games on Steam so, like me, I switch between games. I'll play one for a while then play another then go back.
