The core issue is if you play this game a lot, you build up wealth and you can throw your wealth around to buy shit you want. New players have a harder time competing with prices, especially if they suck at navigating the recipes.
Some people are so inept at recipes they can't even fathom how a player can farm 10 regals in a day. It's this disparity between luck and knowledge that puts the elite at the top and the non-elite far, far at the bottom. Of course, if you're just playing the game for fun, you shouldn't even care how much a Soultaker costs, because a Soultaker is a luxury item. no more in game trading window or dropping items once they have been picked up you either destroy the item or vendor and implement a auction house not real money ofc but making it so everything traded goes through that system and is monitored and flags anything suspicious
dont ask me how exactly that will work its just an example but imo its pretty much to late to save poe from the way RMT has affected it so far. its been over ten years since diablo2 surely GGG knew this would happen im curious about the ideas they had to fight RMT knowing the game would be abused just like d2 im guessing it comes down to resources to implement such a system. |

If I didnt come to these forums I wouldnt know drops are bad. I progress just fine self found with very minimal farming just a little in docks in merciless about 12 runs with my first toon. Problem is you see these 6 link builds and uber 1% gear and think you must get that way too so it facilitates bots, RMT, and so on. Maybe forums ruined games not RMT which grew out of it?

There is no palatable solution. None.
Make everything BoA, and you kill the social dynamic. Throw more people at banning/investigating? Hows that working for AAA companies? Increase drop rates so there's less incentive to RMT? Hi, new league endgame. A week just flew by. I've tried to get this point across in all the other RMT threads with more or less effectiveness. Learn to live with it, or simply shut off your internet and never play another online game ever again.
