The Maximum Fun family of podcasts might be a good way to go. It's a bit broader than a gaming website, but the rates (considering audience size and demographic type) are quite cheap. The network itself is also a self-built collective, a collection of artists, very much in the spirit of indie development.
The media kit is a little outdated, but I think it's safe to assume that the broad strokes of it are still accurate. I'm sure you could get updated numbers from them. http://www.maximumfun.org/sponsorships |

hm what could help, more than any marketing campaign is language localisation.
I remember here in Brasil when Blizzard brought WoW in portuguese, everyone and their dogs gave wow a try. My brother even bought a 6 month package subscribe, of which he just played 3 months. Im sure it netted blizzard quite a lot of subscriptions, or else they would have shut down their servers by now. I know path of exile works diferently, as the revenue comes after the player have tried out the game and got hooked to it, but uh that could be aplied to every other multiplayer game i know of. The only difference is how players get their free version of the game to try out ;-p So yeah, language localisation. |

Your best ads are word of mouth. You need to get the cool kids talking about it. Hit up college gaming clubs/conventions to put on local events or competitions. Once college kids start playing it, the high school kids will pick it up as the cool thing to do.

" While I think ideas like these are great, I don't think they are feasible. Where would you start? which country? which college? To do that properly that would need an enormous amount of manpower and a lot of money on POS materials, transportation etc. Since I'm guessing Jeremy's team is not 50-100+ people, local offline campaigns are not an option. Getting the client and the game itself localized might be a good one though. It would help local advertisers spread the word more easily and it would open the game up to a larger base. (Still this requires a lot of constant translators to work on it. If the community would help in that this could be easy though. Think about the localization of WC3 Dota) |

The question is are there even gamers out there that doesn´t know about PoE yet?
What can never be lent or earned?
Somewhat, that devours everyone and everything: A tree that rush. A bird that sings. It eat bones and smite the hardest stones. Masticate every sword. Shatters every shrine. It defeat mighty kings and carry mountains on lightly wings. What am i? |

Sorry if this is posted before haven't read all the previous posts.
Ok here is my idea, Create a path of exile commercial / viral video creation contest. Give prizes in categories which would appeal to people who don’t currently play the game. Examples: Most hilarious blooper style commercial / viral video Most dark and scary style commercial / viral video Most awe inspiring style commercial / viral video Most “so bad its good style” commercial / viral video Stress that the videos do not have to be gameplay footage, or can be hybrid gameplay/live action. This would benefit the GGG by giving current players something cool to share on social media and the videos may get picked up by blogs and news outlets. It would also encourage community engagement. The prizes should be worth the amount of effort. Examples: Best overall video : design a unique item, and others below Best in each category: an amazing unique pet designed for video winners alone, some cash shop points All entries that tried at least a little, a basic unique pet. *by unique pet I mean only available through this contest never a cash shop item. |

I will make a comedic YouTube account dedicated to PoE and become so famous that anyone who doesn't play PoE will be labeled as a standard citizen and will not be allowed into the bouncy castle.

It's a scandal that one of the premier PC gaming sites, Rock Paper Shotgun, has no featured content with you guys. You should really arrange an interview, and I'm sure they'll be receptive to the idea.
That's also where I found about the game, btw. Think of the reach. Have you made a cool build using The Coming Calamity? Let me know! Last edited by ephetat#3689 on Feb 19, 2014, 1:29:52 PM
