this work like a charm it works for Star Citizen and the game is not released yet

In case you haven't done that yet, ask yourself where you really want to go with the game. When you've figured that out, do two things:

First, analyse the game market and look out for games that follow the same PHILOSOPHY - not even games that serve the same market, but games that are looking for the same audience, say Hardcore players, Casual players, lone wolves, group players... You get the rough idea. There might be a LOT of players out there that haven't tried any ARPG/Hack 'n Slay yet because they never felt that the genre was interesting for them - too shallow, too fast paced, not enough social aspects, whatever it may be ...
For this target audience, make aspects of PoE stand out that might be interesting for them. Say, you're a minecraft player and are not interested in the long grind that leads to high levels, but you enjoy to just jump into a game for one or two hours and create something unique, focus on advertising RACES. Overall, there could be around 5 ads that are launched at different audiences. PoE offers many different styles of playing - make use of that.

Second, ask the players that already play the game what else they play. If there's a significant number of players playing a certain game, maybe look into that. Naturally most will be playing other ARPGs or MMOs, so i'd rather ask for what people are looking for BESIDE those genres. Dota games / MOBAs have been mention yet, i'd also explicitly ask for sandbox games, old fashioned strategy games and competitive games (!), as i do believe there are quite some aspects players of those kind of games might enjoy aswell.

The easiest way to create interest for people that play those other kind of games and are NOT yet playing any other ARPG, is to create interest in the eyes of leading members of communities - streamers, youtubers, twitch army, anything like that. The savest way to create interest is that people tell other people and make them interested in turn, and it's also the cheapest way. By targeting players who're not in any way "associated" with any ARPG yet, you don't have to compete with other products and can concentrate on your strengths.

Oh, and as it has been mentioned before i'd also like to point out that it'd be VERY wise to give a LOT more help to new players. Tbh, the first 1-2 hours of PoE aren't that exiting, especially compared to other ARPGs - people leave before they've really seen the game shine. Maybe create "community hubs" where experienced players introduce the game to new players and in turn earn something for their effort, just like in races. The faster players get social contact and feel welcome, the more likely they'll come back.
Get kim dot com to play your game, make a viral video etc.

I don't even like his schtick but....

a featured PewDiePie video could bring in the numbers.

They just have to tell him you can destroy barrels and he'll immediately play it. Also they should try getting totalbiscuit to do another "WTF is" video since the xpac is coming out and he hasn't covered the game since CB.

This is very clearly a SUGGESTION thread. You guys move my threads into oblivion every possible chance you get - so I demand you move this to where it should be located.

And yes: I'm very serious.

This needs to get moved, please. Thanks Mods.
