Is POE doing enough to counter the D3 ROS hype?

new leagues > RoS
canceled the prepurchase after the announcement (i think i will try out RoS later :D)

POE is trying to build hype of its own with the time-gated revealing of information regarding the new leagues, but the ROS hype seems insurmountable when you have a multi-billion dollar marketing machine called Blizzard running the show. Let's face it, the D3 hype will probably convince a lot of POE players to abandon the new leagues (at least for awhile) when ROS is released.

How will that affect the economy of the new leagues? What can POE do to stop the exodus?

Wanted to write a lot, but ... pff, not worth. Purchased D3 when it come but, now RoS will wait a lot longer.

My $50 will go to PoE Survivor Pack, much more excited to get hands on PoE 1.1 not RoS

So - no, I will not return to RoS, at least for next season in PoE, but wait - then again will be new patch, 1.2, right? :D

I'm never going back to that shit game. I have hundreds in my battlenet from playing AH3 made a few thousand paypal so it's essentially a free upgrade but i want no part of it. PoE is 10x the game D3 was IMO.

Say the one with a lvl 60 caracter and join date 2014.

Whats your point?

The point is that POE is FANTASTIC 1>60. Everything is very balanced. Drops don't really matter too terribly much so you'll always find upgrades.

You are in for the best play in your ARPG life 1>60 in POE. No doubt about it.

I write 4x paragraphs that you conveniently ignore.

That's Xav for you.

I adressed all of your points with my answer while staying on topic (your points were quite off topic). You chose to ignore my answer for a good reason :)
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Farming: I see what you did there, added some extra stuff to make SFL lazy. Smart move *wink* This is completely something you made up. None of the SFL demands ever asked for getting stuff without farming. You somehow distorted drop rates not being based on trading to "not farming". It is not. If anything the lack of ability to *buy power* is 10x more hardcore than trade simulation we have.

Grouping: Amazing! You actually understood what solo does mean! Awesome man *high five* If group play demanded more cautious play, and meant bigger challenge I would say otherwise, but in its current state group in PoE is the easy mode. Only challenge in group play is FPS

Trading: Another 10 points for you! Finally you understood meaning of self found! Trade is a totally different type of game in itself, I would not place its difficulty on ARPG. ARPG is somehow about being able to kill stuff. Amazing right? You know what is hardcore, getting your gear by stuff that is INDEED challenging to kill. Not mindless faceroll for currency collecting.

Again, you missed the point. I said farming + grouping + trading = solo farming. That's what you want. That eliminates a lot of challenge (like making and maintaining a good group and educating yourself about the market) and only leaves you with solo farming. There's nothing more hardcore to solo farming than to the other two things. It's actually a lot easier, that's what I'm saying all the time.

 My view on RoS, Blizzard fooled me once with D3, shame on you, fool me twice with RoS, shame on me. So I will wait and see the player reviews and feedback before making a decision on whether to play RoS or not. The so called "professional reviewers" can be very misleading since they don't have the time needed to play an arpg to the end game and that is exactly where most arpgs fail. Just look at the D3 stats on Metacritic: http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/diablo-iii:

Critics = 88 out of 100 = success
Players = 3.9 out of 10 = fail
"You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

These anti-SFL players... having a SFL has zero impact on you but out of spite you'll rally against anyone else's fun. You'd still have your trading and your groups and whatever you obviously enjoy from the game: shitty drop ratios... shitty crafting ratios... and more power to you!

At any rate: I can't wait for ROS just on those points alone.

I already explained why this is wrong. Also if it actually had zero impact, GGG would've implemented it long ago.

I dont think they refuse to implement it cause of its Impact, they simply dont want to :-)
Dont believe that SFL would have serious Impact on the playerbase.
