Is POE doing enough to counter the D3 ROS hype?

ROS will be the first nonWoW Blizzard game I don't preorder or day1 purchase since Warcraft2. I have many gamer friends my age or older and the same goes for all of them. Blizzard lost a ton of lifelong fans with D3.

My bet is that the next league cycle after ROS launches POE will get a massive influx of players that got the arpg bug and were let down (again) by D3.

I feel like you people think EVERYONE who quit D3 came to PoE. I also feel like you guys think PoE has a comparable established fanbase.

the thing is, d3ros has a playtime of like 500 hrs then you are done.

its aknown fact blizzard jus wants ur money. poe they dont car. plus 6 man party beats 4 man party.

I bought RoS, looking forward to it.
Played D3 for about 1200 or 1300 hours and had fun.

Will Play D3 RoS and PoE, like both of them for different reasons.

PoE does feel unrewarding at some points. I will try PoE completely selffound - when I get frustrated (and i WILL do..) i will Switch to RoS i think :-)

Seems most people want to cut the giant down to size. ROS will be a commercial success, though I found D3 somewhat frustrating I'm hoping Blizzard can fix a lot of the issues. Considering the countless hours of great gaming Blizzard have given me over the last 15 years or so I'll be giving it a chance. In saying that I will continue to play and support POE. For me, POE is the more enjoyable game at the moment though I've never been the type to restrict myself to one videogame.

I just want to get the story over with then back to PoE.

Now where have I encountered that recently?

Reaper of Souls fixes none of the problems that Diablo 3 has, save for being forced to run the plot constantly.

I still have zero customization, I still need to equip the strongest weapon I can find, despite the fact that I'm a Wizard. It still doesn't matter what damage type I'm using, they are all identical in every possible way. I still only have 3 stats: DPS, Life, and Defense. Gear is still boring as shit. The numbers are still ridiculously high, the enemies are all identical in how they need to be fought. Most areas still aren't random at all. The plot is still stupid. The dialogue is still cringe worthy.

Need I go on?

Sure, the Scion is a little narm-worthy and the Marauder sounds like an internet tough guy, but most of the game is bearable, and all the dialogue is easily skipable. Any Witch I make only needs to use a giant axe if I'm intending her to cleave baddies, otherwise giving her an axe is stupid.

I love PoE. It surpassed Diablo 2 a while ago, and I'm just super excited to see what this expansion has in store for us. I couldn't give a shit about RoS.
