Is POE doing enough to counter the D3 ROS hype?

I waited years for D3. OMFG I wanted it sooo badly. Even though I had never played D1 or D2, I was a huge Sacred 1 & 2 nerd, and I couldn't get into D1&2 because both the Sacred games were much more modern and perfect ARPGs.
I played the D3 demo as soon as it launched. A few hours later my pre order for the £60 CE was cancelled. What a load of shite, how could it be worse than Sacred when it was made by Blizz??? But now I have PoE, and it is perfection. (b) Personal abuse, foul language, inappropriate subject matter, obscene, harassing, threatening, hateful, or discriminatory or defamatory remarks of any nature ... are not permitted.

People forget about enjoying games rather than ranting between the two.
I guarantee that 50% of the people on this thread will play it, Although you may or may not play it as often as anyone else. I'm definitely going to try it, although I won't be playing it from the start of RoS I don't care what the world says.

They should give RoS for free as an apology for the shit that is D3.

At this point, I see 0 reason to go back to D3 when RoS comes out. I saw a lot of beta streaming, and I really don't feel I'm going to enjoy this expansion.

From what i've seen RoS will be the polar opposite of D3 in terms of loot. Everyone will get a ton of it, legendaries / rares / crafted stuff. It'll last the average person 20hrs, the ARPG junkie 60hrs, and the Blind Blizzard Fanboy "hundreds" (grinding out paragons). Its going to be a disposable experience, probably decent fun, but will in no way be challenging / balanced / or address the real core issues of the game itself. Certainly not worth $40.
After the fiasco of D3, I'm done with Blizz, 100%. Sadly that won't matter and the game will sell millions. |

I don't quite understand all the D3 hate. Of course I'm disappointed of D3 (as every D2 lover is) but the game is far away from being crap to me. If I try to look at it from a more objective perspective I have to admit, that D3 is a good game. I spend more hours playing D3 than most other games I own. I pretty sure that everyone hates D3 because of what it could have been and not what it actually is. Think of.... Dead Space 1! Such a great game, but once youve finished it you will hardly ever touch this game again for the next year. So 60 bucks for 20 hours playtime. I bet most ppl spend more time playing D3 and still call it a waste of money.
Still I wish I could travel back in time and could magically exchange the budgets of D3 and PoE. I can barely imagine what wouldve become to PoE if they had the ressources Blizzard had... Too bad time traveling is too dangerous :D IGN: Emwega

What Diablo hype? Haven't been able to witness anything of that AT ALL.
D3 is a good game, it's just not a Diablo. Not at all. Diablo = you can play it forever, and you surely can NOT play Diablo3 longer than 1-2 weeks before you get bored like hell. And therefore it shall rot in hell. |
